Entity identification and tracking from a predefined zone within a physical environment

Abstract

A system and method for entity identification and tracking from a predefined zone within a physical environment are provided. The system may include sensors to detect an entity entering a predefined zone and to track the entity throughout the physical environment. The method may include accessing a list of candidate items associated with the entity from an entity data structure, and determining a media content to be output to the entity based on the entity data structure. A rules-based algorithm may be used to determine which entity to output media content to. Furthermore, the algorithm may determine which media content related to a specific item should be output.
