Modified release pharmaceutical composition

Abstract

A pharmaceutical composition for modified release is provided. The pharmaceutical composition comprises a first layer containing hydro-soluble minerals for rapid release, a second layer containing minerals for conventional release, and a third layer containing lipid-soluble vitamins and minerals for delayed release. A method of manufacturing a pharmaceutical composition for modified release is also provided. The method comprises the steps of: preparing a first layer containing hydro-soluble minerals for rapid release using dry granulation, preparing a second layer containing minerals for conventional release using wet granulation, preparing a third layer by blending lipid-soluble vitamins and minerals for delayed release using wet granulation or melt granulation, and layering the granules of the first, second, and third layers an compressing the layers into a tablet.
