Abstract

The invention relates to the technical field of proton ceramic electrochemical cells, in particular to a lanthanum-strontium-cobalt-iron oxide (LSCF) cathode material for medium-low temperature proton ceramic electrochemical cells or their electrolyzer mode, as well as its preparation method and application. The invention adopts a combined method of sol-gel method and freeze-drying technology to prepare LSCF powder, including: dissolving metal nitrates of lanthanum, strontium, cobalt and iron in deionized water in stoichiometric ratio to form a mixed salt solution; adding citric acid as a complexing agent to form a stable sol; subjecting the obtained sol to rapid freezing and vacuum freeze-drying to obtain a fluffy precursor; finally calcining the precursor at a specific temperature to obtain a nano-sized LSCF cathode material with high specific surface area and high activity. This method effectively inhibits hard agglomeration of the powder during the drying process, and the obtained material exhibits excellent three-phase boundary length and oxygen reduction reaction catalytic activity at 600-800 degrees Celsius, significantly improving the output performance and long-term stability of the cell.
