Abstract
The invention belongs to the field of coastal ecological restoration, and particularly relates to an artificial shell-algae reef protection system for coastal restoration and its application. It includes a shell-algae reef-like group, a base mattress layer, a stabilizing device and a biological habitat area. The shell-algae reef-like group consists of a plurality of shell-algae reef units arranged in rows at intervals, with adjacent shell-algae reef units in any row closely attached. The shell-algae reef-like group is permeable and used for coastal protection; the plurality of shell-algae reef units is placed on the top surface of the base mattress layer; the plurality of shell-algae reef units is limited to the top surface of the base mattress layer through the stabilizing device; the biological habitat area is arranged on the side of the plurality of shell-algae reef units arranged in rows, and the biological habitat area is used for cultivating marine cash crops. The invention may slow down coastal erosion, protect natural or artificial beaches, maintain shoreline stability, and at the same time set up breeding areas for marine plants, shellfish, fish and other species in the shell-algae reefs to improve marine environmental quality and create certain economic benefits.
