Abstract

A cistern includes a vessel for storing liquid and an outlet body arranged to receive and direct the liquid toward a receptacle positioned below the vessel. The outlet body defines a discharge passage having an inlet region of a first cross-sectional area and a discharge region of a smaller second cross-sectional area downstream thereof. The passage tapers progressively inwardly and has a smoothly curved inner surface to accelerate liquid flow and reduce turbulence. The arrangement improves discharge velocity, reduces flush duration, and promotes uniform liquid distribution for enhanced flushing efficiency.
