Automatic monitoring method and system for intersection vehicle information

Abstract

The present invention discloses an automatic monitoring method and system for intersection vehicle information. The method collects the traffic volume of each turning lane in each approach lane of the intersection and the continuous trajectory data of vehicles when passing through the intersection by using a lidar sensor installed at the intersection; at the same time, the method extracts vehicle information based on phase time periods and possible driving trajectory intervals of turning vehicles, and selects a robust locally weighted regression method to complement and smooth the extracted data, so as to obtain vehicle trajectory data and traffic volume close to the real situation. By adopting the technical scheme of the present invention, the traffic operation efficiency and safety level of the intersection are improved.
