Abstract
The present invention is related to an IoT-based real-time monitoring system for rainfall measurement. This IoT-based rainfall measurement system employing load cell utilizes an Arduino Nano, a load cell, and Bluetooth connectivity for remote monitoring and control. It employs an indirect measurement approach, converting the weight of collected rainwater into equivalent millimeters (mm) of rainfall based on the known density of water (1 g / cm³). Two solenoid valves, managed through a dedicated mobile app, regulate the inlet and outlet for precise water sampling. The system provides real-time rainfall data and allows remote control of the valves, ensuring flexibility in data collection. By combining IoT technology with indirect measurement principles, this system offers a cost-effective, scalable, and efficient solution for accurate rainfall monitoring, particularly in remote or hard-to-access locations.
