A herbal composition for the management and treatment of cancer

Abstract

The present invention relates to a novel synergistic herbal composition comprising Tinospora cordifolia, Ocimum sanctum, and Withania somnifera for cancer prevention, management, and treatment is disclosed. The composition exhibits cytotoxic, anti-proliferative, immunomodulatory, pro-apoptotic, and angiogenesis-inhibiting properties against cancer cells with minimal toxicity to normal cells. Tinospora cordifolia provides immunostimulatory alkaloids and glycosides; Ocimum sanctum contributes anti-proliferative phenolic compounds and flavonoids; Withania somnifera delivers cytotoxic withanolides inducing apoptosis and inhibiting angiogenesis. The extracts are combined in optimized proportions and formulated as tablets, capsules, or oral suspensions using standard pharmaceutical excipients. This cost-effective, biocompatible formulation serves as a safe adjunct or alternative to conventional chemotherapy, offering enhanced therapeutic outcomes with reduced adverse effects and improved patient compliance, particularly beneficial in resource-limited settings.
