A corner insert for a box

Abstract

A corner insert for a box is disclosed. The insert is receivable in a corner between adjacent walls of a box and comprises a central body and two elongated arms angled to correspond to the internal corner angle. The arms engage at least one slot extending across the corner, including across a wall-to-wall and / or flap-to-wall fold line, to secure the corner and optionally join overlapping surfaces. In some embodiments the central body defines a cavity to receive and retain a corner post to improve stacking strength. Also disclosed are boxes incorporating one or more inserts; blanks configured with corresponding slots and methods of assembly.
