An IoT based automatic medicine dispenser for enhanced medication adherence in elderly people

Abstract

The present invention is related to an IOT based automatic medicine dispenser for enhanced medication adherence in elderly people. The smart medication dispenser functions as an essential tool which enables seniors and people with chronic conditions to effectively monitor and manage their medication schedules. Through the coordinated functions of an Arduino microcontroller and a servo motor the device delivers medication at pre-set times. The smart dispenser uses LED lights and buzzer signals to alert users when it is time to take their medication. The Android Studio developed mobile app enables users and caregivers to design medication plans with the ability to modify schedules and sends real-time alerts to help maintain proper medication timing.
