Abstract

The present invention discloses a molecular biological method for identifying species of the genus Corylus. The insertion-deletion site in the ITS sequence of Corylus plants obtained through this method is the 437-439 base site in the partial ITS sequence of Corylus yunnanensis, where the partial ITS sequence of Corylus yunnanensis is shown as SEQ ID No.1. At this insertion-deletion site, the bases are ATC in Corylus yunnanensis and Corylus kweichowensis, while they are absent in Corylus avellana, Corylus ferox, and Corylus mandshurica, effectively distinguishing Corylus yunnanensis and Corylus kweichowensis from Corylus avellana, Corylus ferox, and Corylus mandshurica. When combined with other differential sites (such as sites 69, 81, 121, 595, etc.), this site can distinguish Corylus yunnanensis, Corylus kweichowensis, Corylus avellana, Corylus ferox, and Corylus mandshurica from each other. Therefore, the insertion-deletion site of the present invention can be widely applied in the identification of species within the genus Corylus.
