Abstract
The present invention belongs to the technical field of metal material processing, in particular to a processing and strengthening method for enhancing mechanical properties of ferritic stainless steel bar and product thereof. According to present invention, the method comprises the following steps: performing solution treatment on a ferritic stainless steel bar to achieve an initial grain size of 220±5 μm-245±5 μm for the ferritic stainless steel bar; placing the solution-treated bar in a room temperature environment, and using a torsion equipment to subject the ferritic stainless steel bar to forward-backward reciprocating torsion deformation; and continuing until a gradient microstructure is formed from a core to a surface of the ferritic stainless steel bar. This method innovatively transforms a conventional unidirectional torsion deformation-based processing and strengthening method of bar into a reciprocating torsion deformation method; without significantly altering a macroscopic dimension of the bar, it establishes the gradient microstructure that gradually transitions from a core to a surface inside the bar; this gradient structure effectively refines grains and introduces high-density dislocations, thereby significantly enhancing yield strength and tensile strength of material.
