Find Innovative SolutionsGenerate Solutions
Solution Overview
Problem
Existing data transmission methods, such as XMODEM and bidirectional communication systems, are inadequate for transmitting large volumes of data (e.g., images) over long distances due to large executable code size, insufficient bandwidth, and limitations in communication duration, leading to unreliable and noisy data transfer.
Innovation Solution
A wireless safety system with a separate data channel and dual radio modules enables continuous data exchange using a main radio channel for status updates and a dedicated data channel for large data transmission, employing TDMA and error handling to ensure reliable transmission of data packets.

Engineering Contradiction Analysis
1Reliability
If XMODEM protocol is used for data transmission, then data exchange between devices is enabled, but the executable code size becomes too large (40 Kb) to fit in microcontrollers
Solution Approach 1:
The patent extracts and implements only the essential error detection and correction mechanisms from complex protocols like XMODEM, discarding unnecessary functionality. This results in a streamlined protocol that provides reliable data transmission with minimal code footprint suitable for resource-constrained wireless sensors.
Solution Approach 2:
The patent employs lightweight, simple data packet structures and transmission protocols that can be easily implemented in firmware with small memory footprints. These simplified protocols sacrifice some advanced features of complex protocols but provide sufficient reliability for wireless sensor communication.
2Reliability
If bidirectional communication is used for long range data transmission, then confirmation of reception is guaranteed, but the data transmission rate is low (19200 bps) and communication session duration is limited to 150 ms
Solution Approach 1:
The patent segments large data transmissions into smaller packets that can be sent and acknowledged within the 150 ms communication session limits. This allows reliable transmission of massive data by breaking it into manageable chunks that fit within protocol timing constraints while maintaining overall high data rates.
Solution Approach 2:
The patent implements continuous data transmission protocols that minimize idle time and maintain constant communication sessions. By optimizing the bidirectional communication flow and reducing acknowledgment overhead, the system achieves higher effective data transmission rates while maintaining reception confirmation reliability.
3Length of stationary object
If bidirectional communication is used to transfer information both ways, then data can be written into sensors and transmitted at long distances, but the bandwidth is insufficient for massive data transmission
Solution Approach 1:
The patent implements a dedicated data channel that operates in parallel with the control channel, effectively adding another dimension to the communication system. This separate data channel provides additional bandwidth specifically for massive data transmission while the bidirectional control channel maintains long-distance communication capabilities and reception confirmation.

AI summary
The invention refers to wireless safety systems and it relates to a method for transmitting data by a sensor of a wireless safety system that enables to transmit massive data to large distances (up to 2000 m). A method for transmitting data by a sensor of a wireless safety system that consists of at least one sensor and a receiver, which are coupled by means of a radio communication, is proposed. The method comprises: continuously exchanging data and/or data announcements, which are transmitted, by sending statuses and/or alarm signals through a main radio channel between the sensor and the receiver that is equipped with at least two radio modules, which are configured to perform the continuous data exchange, and activating a separate data channel for the data transmission using one of the radio modules that is not used for the main radio channel, and with a decision making unit. Wherein the sensor, through said main radio channel by means of the alarm signal ("Data Pending"), sends a request regarding a necessary data transmission through the separate data channel to the receiver, by means of the decision making unit, the receiver sends the corresponding signals to the sensor. After the signal regarding the beginning of the data transmission is received, the sensor begins to transmit the data through the data channel with a continuous series of the data packets. At the end of the data transmission the receiver sends the request with a control number of packets to confirm a completeness of the data transmission. After the control number of the packets and the fact that the data has been completely transmitted from the sensor are confirmed, the data channel is emptied for a next session of the data transmission, and the sensor, after the data transmission session is completed, switches to operation through the main radio channel. Also, a wireless safety system for implementation of the described method is proposed.
