This inversion protects the membrane from mechanical damage while the lining frame itself provides the accessible space needed for cable and pipe installation and maintenance.

The invention introduces the lining frame as an intermediary element between the membrane and the external environment. The membrane is fastened to the lining frame using traditional piercing methods, but since the lining frame is a rigid structural element, this piercing does not compromise the membrane's sealing function.
