AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Vehicle seats with a lower shield mechanism face design constraints due to the hinge protruding forward, potentially interfering with internal components when bent, limiting design freedom.

Method used

A vehicle seat design featuring a slider, rear frame, and lower shield with integral hinges and protrusions that restrict forward movement of the hinges, utilizing a cushion reaction force to maintain a rearward protrusion, allowing for a high degree of design freedom without requiring additional space.

Benefits of technology

The design ensures the lower shield maintains a rearward protrusion, preventing interference with internal components and enhancing design flexibility by restricting forward bending, thus eliminating the need for extra space within the seat.

Abstract

To provide a vehicle seat which has a high degree of freedom in design.SOLUTION: A vehicle seat includes a lower shield 1 mounted across a slider which is engaged with a rail and a rear frame 75 which goes up and down. The lower shield 1 includes a base part mounted on the slider 72, a first base part 12 mounted on the base part, a first hinge 13 connected to the first base part 12, a second base part 14 connected to the first hinge 13, a second hinge 15 connected to the second base part 14, and a rear frame mounting part 16 which is connected to the second hinge 15 and is mounted on the rear frame 75. The first base part 12 includes a first protrusion part 121 which protrudes backward. The second base part 14 includes a second protrusion part 141 which protrudes backward. The first protrusion part 121 and the second protrusion part 141 abut to each other and forward movement of the first hinge 13 is restricted in the process that the first hinge 13 moves forward by receiving an external force F1 by which the first hinge 13 goes forward from a bent posture of protruding backward.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
