A method of seamlessly playing between download data and streaming data by using a local network server and an apparatus therefor are disclosed. An aspect of the present disclosure provides an operation method of a terminal for seamlessly playing content, the method comprising the steps of: a downloading agent downloading initial segments, which are at least some of media segments configuring each of a plurality of pieces of content, and storing the downloaded initial segments in a memory; the local network server transmits an initial segment of the first content among the media segments stored in the memory to the player; and the local network server requests the downloading agent to download the remaining segments of the first content.
