[0025] The use of chapter headings in this document is for ease of understanding and does not limit the scope of the disclosed technologies to any particular chapter. Furthermore, certain terms related to 5G and the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) protocols are used as illustrative examples, and the disclosed technologies are also applicable to other wireless protocols.
[0026] Various exemplary embodiments of this solution are described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. The drawings are provided for illustrative purposes only and depict only exemplary embodiments of the solution to facilitate the reader's understanding. Therefore, the drawings should not be construed as limiting the breadth, scope, or applicability of the solution. It should be noted that these figures are not necessarily drawn to scale for clarity and ease of explanation. It should be noted that in the disclosure of this patent application, the network node can be at least one of a Location Management Function (LMF), a Base Station (BS) (e.g., gNB and / or TRP), or a core network.
[0027] In 5G networks, roaming UEs in the surveyed public land mobile network (VPLMN) may need to access internal application functions in the VPLMN or the home public land mobile network (HPLMN).
[0028] This description Figure 1 Here, the horizontal axis represents frequency resources. As shown in the figure, three carriers CC1, CC2, and CC3 can be available, where CC1 and CC2 are linked together via CA, and specifically, all or part of CC1 and CC2 are configured as bandwidth portions (BWP) for wireless communication.
[0029] In current technology, such as Figure 2As shown, a UE can perform positioning via an interface with the network by transmitting a Sounding Reference Signal (SRS) and / or receiving a Positioning Reference Signal (PRS). High-precision positioning requires large bandwidth, especially when using timing-based positioning methods (e.g., TDOA, RTT); the larger the bandwidth, the higher the positioning accuracy. In carrier aggregation (CA), two or more component carriers (CCs) are aggregated. The UE can receive or transmit simultaneously on one or more CCs depending on its capabilities. Higher positioning accuracy can be achieved by expanding the bandwidth of the Positioning Reference Signal (RS) (e.g., PRS, SRS for positioning purposes) via carrier aggregation technology.
[0030] However, under existing standards, there is no method for addressing location configuration in CA scenarios. This patent application provides a method and process for signaling transmission to specify location in CA scenarios. The proposed method at least helps improve the accuracy and efficiency of the location process in wireless communication networks. To improve or enhance location accuracy (e.g., to meet or comply with high-precision location requirements), the systems and methods discussed herein may include processing, procedures, and / or implementations for signaling.
[0031] The exemplary embodiments disclosed herein are intended to address problems related to one or more issues arising in the prior art and provide additional features that will become apparent when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings and the following detailed description. Exemplary systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products are disclosed herein according to various embodiments. However, it should be understood that these embodiments are presented by way of example and not as limiting, and that it will be apparent to those skilled in the art who read this document that various modifications can be made to the disclosed embodiments while remaining within the scope of this disclosure.
[0032] Preliminary introduction (background of location services in a CA scenario)
[0033] Currently, only the signaling and procedures for positioning in a single carrier are specified (e.g., 100MHz in FR, 400MHz in FR2), but the positioning accuracy is very limited and difficult to meet the requirements.
[0034] Background of Positioning Processing Window (PPW)
[0035] In Rel-16 positioning, during measurement gaps (MG), the UE is expected to measure DL-PRS resources outside the active DL BWP or using a different set of physical parameters than the active BWP's numbering. To reduce latency, DL PRS measurements are supported even when there is no MG within the PPW, where the UE is expected to measure DL-PRS resources if they are within the active DL BWP or have the same set of physical parameters as the active DL BWP.
[0036]
[0037] In the following discussion, component carriers (CCs) can also refer to serving cells or positioning frequency layers that are aggregated for positioning in a CA scenario.
[0038] In the following discussion, the terms “bandwidth aggregation,” “carrier aggregation,” and “frequency layer aggregation” are equivalent.
[0039] In the following discussion, network devices (e.g., first network device, second network device) can be any wireless network, such as a cellular network or a narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) network. Network devices (e.g., first network device, second network device) can be at least one of a Location Management Function (LMF), a Base Station (BS) (e.g., a gNB and / or a Transmitter Receiver Point (TRP)) or core network, an evolved Node B (eNB), a serving eNB, a target eNB, a femtocell, or a picocell.
[0040] In some embodiments, the UE can be embodied in various types of user equipment, such as mobile phones, smartphones, personal digital assistants (PDAs), tablets, laptops, wearable computing devices, etc. As described herein, the UE can correspond to, be associated with, or be part of a vehicle (e.g., a vehicle UE), a mobile UE, a roadside unit (RSU), a location reference unit (PRU), and / or any other type of UE that supports Uu communication and / or V2X services, sidelink communication.
[0041] Example 1
[0042] Among other things, this section discloses PRS configurations in cases where two or more Positioning Frequency Layers (PFLs) / CCs are associated or where there is a wide bandwidth for a single PFL.
[0043] This process is in Figure 3As shown in the diagram. Before the Location Management Function (LMF) provides DL-PRS auxiliary data to the UE, a PRS configuration exchange process is required between the LMF and the NG-RAN node (e.g., gNB). The LMF sends a PRS configuration request to the NG-RAN node (step 301), and the NG-RAN node can provide the LMF with a list of PRS resource set configurations and PRS resource configurations (step 302). The UE can send a request for DL-PRS positioning auxiliary data to the LMF (step 303), and the LMF can provide the UE with the DL-PRS auxiliary data (step 304). The UE can be configured with one or more DL-PRS Positioning Frequency Layer (PFL) configurations, as indicated by the LMF via the DL-PRS auxiliary data. A DL PRS PFL is defined by the LMF as a set of DL PRS resource sets that share some common parameters (subcarrier spacing (SCS), resource bandwidth, starting PRB, point A, comb size, and cyclic prefix).
[0044] To achieve high-precision positioning, especially when applying timing-based positioning methods (e.g., TDOA, RTT), it is necessary to support the aggregation of PRS / SRS resources across PFLs / carriers for positioning measurements. The configuration information of Positioning Reference Signals (PRS) for multiple positioning frequency layers is correlated. A UE can be configured with one or more PRS frequency layer groups (PFL groups). The term PFL group is used to describe or may specify multiple associated PFLs. Each PRS PFL group includes two or more PRS PFLs. Multiple PRS PFL configurations belonging to the same PRS PFL group share some common parameters, while some parameters are unique to each PFL, such as bandwidth, point A, starting PRB, etc.
[0045] The common configuration parameters of multiple associated PRS PFLs include at least one of the following parameters:
[0046] ●Common Physics Parameter Set: SCS
[0047] ● Public Transmitter Point Receiving (TRP) Identifier (ID)
[0048] ●Common ARP (Antenna Reference Point)
[0049] ● Same “Auxiliary Data Reference” TRP and System Frame Number (SFN) 0 offset (time offset of SFN#0 slot #0 of a given TRP relative to SFN#0 slot 0 of the auxiliary data reference TRP)
[0050] ●DL-PRS Resource Set ID
[0051] ●DL-PRS Resource ID
[0052] ●DL-PRS cycle
[0053] ●DL-PRS resource set slot offset
[0054] ●DL-PRS Resource Repetition Factor: The number of times each DL-PRS resource is repeated for a single instance within a DL-PRS resource set.
[0055] ●Time gap: The offset between two duplicate instances of a DL-PRS resource corresponding to the same DL-PRS resource ID within a single instance of a DL-PRS resource set.
[0056] ●Silent Pattern: TRP's DL PRS Silent Configuration
[0057] ● DL-PRS Symbol Count: The number of symbols for each DL-PRS resource within a time slot.
[0058] ●DL-PRS resource slot offset
[0059] ●DL-PRS resource symbol offset
[0060] ●DL-PRS comb size and RE offset
[0061] ●DL-PRS Sequence ID
[0062] ● DL-PRS Priority
[0063] ●DL-PRS Quasi-Co-location (QCL) Information: QCL indication with other DL reference signals of the serving cell and neighboring cells.
[0064] ● DL-PRS transmission power
[0065] ●DL-PRS Expected Reference Signal Time Difference (RSTD) and Expected RSTD Uncertainty.
[0066] By sharing some common configurations among multiple PFLs in a PFL group, PRS resources aggregated from different PFLs in the same PFL group can be sent simultaneously in the same time slot and the same symbol.
[0067] Alternatively, for multiple associated PFLs, the UE can receive the configuration of a reference PFL from the network device (via RRC signaling or signaling notified by the LMF). The UE can be configured with one or more PRS frequency layer groups (PFL groups). The PRS PFL configurations belonging to the same PRS PFL group are associated with the reference PFL configuration. The association and the configuration of the reference PFL can be configured / indicated via higher-layer signaling (e.g., RRC signaling) or signaling notified by the LMF.
[0068] Table 1 below illustrates one method for providing CA information in PRS auxiliary data in TS 37.355. NR-DL-PRS-PositioningFrequencyLayer-CA (PFL group) indicates a list of PFLs to be aggregated (NR-DL-PRS-PositioningFrequencyLayer-CC). The number of PFLs ranges from 1 to the maximum number of CCs / PFLs in the CA. Multiple PFLs share the same SCS, comb size, and cyclic prefix. Each PFL also has its own resource bandwidth, starting PRB, and point A. Furthermore, a bitmap configured for each PFL (e.g., dl-PRS-referenceFrequencyLayer, where 0 means the PFL is not a reference PFL, and 1 means the PFL is a reference PFL) or the ID of the reference frequency layer configured in each PFL group configuration (dl-PRS-referenceFrequencyLayer-ID) can be introduced.
[0069]
[0070] Table 1
[0071] Alternatively, a single PFL with a wider bandwidth can be configured for carrier aggregation. A direct method to extend the frequency range of PRS resources is to increase the bandwidth of the DL-PRS resources in the PFL (e.g., dl-PRS-ResourceBandwidth). The maximum allocated DL-PRS bandwidth of a PFL for carrier aggregation is related to both the maximum bandwidth configured for a PFL (e.g., 272 PRBs) and the maximum number of CC / PFLs to be aggregated.
[0072] Only UEs that support CA-related capabilities can successfully receive / measure broadband PRS resources.
[0073] Therefore, at least one of the following signaling should be included:
[0074] 1. PRS Configuration Request from LMF to NG-RAN Node: The LMF can request the NG-RAN node to configure / update / change PRS CA-related configurations. For example, the LMF can use one or more bits to indicate whether PRS resources need to be aggregated from different PFLs, or the LMF can use one or more bits to indicate the presence / absence of a PFL group. Furthermore, the request signaling may also include explicit parameters for CA-based PRS configuration, requests to change PFL groups, requests for associations between PFLs, or requests for indications of reference PFLs.
[0075] 2. PRS Configuration Response from NG-RAN Node to LMF: NG-RAN nodes can also respond to LMF requests using the PRS CA-related configurations described in section 1. For example, an NG-RAN node can provide a DL-PRS resource list for a TRP, which can aggregate PRS resources or sets of PRS resources from different PFLs. Furthermore, an NG-RAN node can provide the LMF with multiple PRS PFL configurations and their associated information. NG-RAN can also designate a PFL within a PFL group as a reference PFL; for example, all other PFLs in the PFL group can share the same PPW configuration as the reference PFL.
[0076] 3. Requesting DL-PRS Auxiliary Data from UE to LMF: For UE-initiated on-demand PRS transmissions, the UE can send a PRS configuration request to the LMF, and the LMF can also determine and control the PRS transmission (3->1->2). The PRS auxiliary data request signaling from the UE to the LMF can include requests for carrier aggregation-based positioning, explicit parameters for CA-based PRS configuration, requests to change PFL groups, or requests for associations between PFLs.
[0077] 4. Providing DL-PRS auxiliary data from the LMF to the UE: The LMF provides the UE with multiple PRS PFL configurations and their associated information. The LMF can also mark a PFL in a PFL group as a reference PFL. For example, the LMF can provide a PFL group or a list of one or more PFL groups (if there are more than one PFL group, the PFL group ID is also required), and each PRS PFL group includes two or more PRS PFLs. Multiple PRS PFL configurations belonging to the same PRS PFL group share some common parameters.
[0078] Example 2
[0079] Among other things, this section also discloses another mechanism for measuring PRS measurements within the measurement gap (MG).
[0080] During the configured measurement gap, the UE can measure DL PRS resources other than the active DL BWP, or, if measurement is performed, can use a different set of physical parameters than the active DL BWP. The UE can request measurement gaps for positioning via RRC (NR-PRS-MeasurementInfoList), or / and via MAC CE to request activation / deactivation of measurement gaps associated with the positioning MG ID. NR-PRS-MeasurementInfoList includes a request for a list of measurement gap configurations for each frequency layer. The requested measurement gap configuration includes the following parameters: dl-PRS-PointA, nr-MeasPRS-RepetitionAndOffset, and nr-MeasPRS-length.
[0081] A UE can be pre-configured with one or more measurement gaps, each associated with a measPosPreConfigGapId. Each measurement gap is associated with a set of configurations: gap offset, mgl (measurement gap length), mgrp (measurement gap repetition period), mgta (measurement gap timing advance (TA)), and gaptype (per UE, per FR1, or per FR2). NR's MAC protocol also supports requests for location measurement gap activation and deactivation from the UE.
[0082] For the UE's measurement gap request:
[0083] Assuming that PRS resources aggregated from multiple PFLs are transmitted in the same time slot and the same symbol, multiple associated PRS PFLs or a group of PRS PFLs require only one measurement gap request signaling. Furthermore, since it is likely that only consecutive PFLs within the aggregation band are supported, the same measurement gap type (per UE or per FR) is expected for multiple PFLs. The request signaling from the UE to the network (RRC signaling to the gNB or LPP signaling to the LMF) may include at least one of the following information: DL-PRS point A of the reference PFL, DL-PRS point A of each PFL within a PFL group, measurement gap repetition, measurement gap offset, measurement gap length, and measurement gap pattern (per UE, per FR).
[0084] Alternatively, the UE may send a measurement gap request for each PFL, wherein measurement gap requests for PFLs within the same PRS PFL group are associated. Each PFL measurement gap request within the PFL group may share at least one of the following common parameters: gap offset, measurement gap length, measurement gap repetition period, measurement gap timing advance, and gap type. However, because different PFLs have different SCSs, the UE may request different timing offsets or different timing advances for measurement gaps for different PFLs.
[0085] If the UE is configured via LPP to measure the PRS, PRS Reference Received Power (RSRP), PRS Reference Received Path Power (RSRPP), and UE Rx-Tx Time Difference (RTD) for any RSTD, the network provides a single per-UE measurement gap mode or a single per-FR measurement gap mode for concurrent monitoring of all location frequency layers and intra-frequency, inter-frequency, and / or RAT inter-frequency layers across all frequency ranges.
[0086] For measurement gap configuration:
[0087] Conflicts may occur between the timing of two concurrent measurement gaps (e.g., one measurement gap for positioning and another for CSI-RS). In addition to positioning measurement gap ID, measurement gap repetition, measurement gap offset, measurement gap length, measurement gap TA, and measurement gap mode, gapPriority can also be configured in the (pre)configuration of each positioning measurement gap.
[0088] If a conflict occurs between two measurement intervals, the UE should perform the measurement at the higher-priority measurement interval, and the lower-priority measurement interval should be discarded.
[0089] Example 3
[0090] Among other things, this section also discloses another mechanism for PRS measurement (PPW).
[0091] If the DL PRS is within an active DL BWP and has the same set of physical parameters as the active DL BWP, and is within the DL PRS processing window (PPW) indicated by the higher-layer parameter DL-PPW-PreConfig, then the UE is expected to measure the DL PRS outside the measurement gap, depending on the UE's capabilities. For each serving cell, there is only one active UL BWP and DL BWP. The maximum number of PPW configurations for each DL BWP is 4, and the number of active PRS processing windows for each DL BWP is 1. Furthermore, the maximum number of active PRS processing windows across all active DL BWPs is 4, and currently, these active PRS processing windows do not overlap in time. Within a DL-PPW-PreConfig, the UE is only expected to measure a single DL PRS to locate the frequency layer.
[0092] If PRS / SRS bandwidth aggregation is introduced, and if DL-PRS resources are configured in multiple aggregated PFLs, the UE needs to receive DL-PRS simultaneously on one or more active DL BWPs in a PPW. The UE is scheduled by DCI or MAC CE to receive and measure DL-PRS on multiple cells in an active PPW.
[0093] Signalling from the gNB to the UE (DCI or MAC CE) can be used to activate / deactivate a PPW with PPW ID = i in CC#x and another PPW with PPW ID = j in another CC#y, where CC#x and CC#y are associated or in the same CC group. This association or CC group can be configured via higher-layer signaling (e.g., RRC signaling) or signaling notified by the LMF. Furthermore, the PPW IDs of the associated serving cells (CC groups) can be the same (i.e., i = j).
[0094] Figure 4 The diagram illustrates a scenario where multiple CCs have different PPW configurations. CC1 has a PPW period of 4, while CC2 has a PPW period of 5. In this case, the chances of the UE simultaneously receiving, measuring, and processing DL-PRS are very small.
[0095] If you want to activate / deactivate PPW for each CC, then the PPW activation / deactivation command is MAC CE as follows: Figure 5 and Figures 7A-3 C is specified.
[0096] It has a variable size and includes at least one of the following (such as...) Figure 5 As shown):
[0097] -numEntry: This field indicates the number of entries N-1 in the MAC CE. 00 indicates N equals 2; 01 indicates N equals 3, and so on. This field is 2 bits long.
[0098] -Serving Cell ID: This field indicates the identifier of the serving cell to which the MAC CE is applied.
[0099] The length of this field is 5 bits;
[0100] -PPW ID: This field indicates the PPW configured on the active DL BWP of the serving cell identified by the serving cell ID mentioned above. Index 0 corresponds to the first entry in the PPW configuration list of this BWP, index 1 corresponds to the second entry in the list, and so on. This field is 2 bits long; the PPW ID can be the same for different serving cells, and each serving cell is associated with a serving cell ID.
[0101] -A / D: This field indicates whether the PPW is activated or deactivated. Setting this field to 1 indicates...
[0102] If the field indicates activation, it indicates deactivation; otherwise, it indicates deactivation. This field is 1 bit long.
[0103] -R: Reserved bit, set to 0.
[0104] Alternatively, to reduce signaling overhead, multiple CCs can share the same PPW configuration, which includes at least one of the following: PPW ID, PPW period and start time slot, PPW length, PPW type, and PPW priority. Specifically, such as... Figure 6 As shown, the MAC CE will activate / deactivate the PPW with PPWID=i in the serving cell C1 (i.e., the reference CC) associated with some serving cell or CC. This association can be configured via higher-layer signaling (e.g., RRC signaling) or signaling notified by the LMF.
[0105] If multiple CCs share the same PPW, the PPW activation / deactivation command MAC CE is specified as follows.
[0106] It has a variable size, including at least one of the following:
[0107] - Serving cell group information and / or serving cell information: (1) This field indicates the identifier of the serving cell to be aggregated in the serving cell group to which MAC CE is applied (e.g., Figure 7A (as shown). The length of this field is proportional to the number of serving cells; (2) Alternatively, the serving cells used for aggregation information are (pre) configured in the higher layers by the gNB or LMF, and the serving cells used for aggregation information include at least one of the following: serving cell group ID, serving cell ID, reference serving cell, etc. In this case, MAC CE only needs to include the serving cell group ID, and does not need to mention each serving cell ID.
[0108] This saves signaling overhead (such as...) Figure 7B (As shown).
[0109] -PPW ID: This field indicates the PPW configured on the active DL BWP of the serving cell identified by the above serving cell group information;
[0110] -A / D: This field indicates whether the PPW is active or deactivated. Setting this field to 1 indicates active, otherwise deactivated. This field is 1 bit long.
[0111] If multiple CCs share the PPW configuration (PPW ID) of a reference CC, the PPW activation / deactivation command MAC CE is specified as follows.
[0112] It has a variable size, including at least one of the following:
[0113] - Reference Serving Cell ID: This field indicates the identifier of the reference serving cell to which MAC CE is applied. The relationship and information between the reference serving cell and other serving cells in a group to be aggregated are configured by the LMF or gNB (pre-). MAC CE only needs to activate the PPW of the reference serving cell. If the DL-PRS is within multiple DL BWPs of the serving cells to be aggregated, the UE can measure the DL-PRS within the PPW. The PPW configuration is configured in the reference serving cell (e.g., ...). Figure 7C (As shown).
[0114] -PPW ID: This field indicates the PPW configured on the active DL BWP of the serving cell identified by the above serving cell group information.
[0115] -A / D: This field indicates whether the PPW is active or deactivated. Setting this field to 1 indicates active, otherwise deactivated. This field is 1 bit long.
[0116] Example 4
[0117] Among other things, this section also discloses another mechanism for PRS measurement (frequency hopping).
[0118] For frequency hopping in DL-PRS, the frequency domain resources of a reference signal are divided into several parts. Each part (which can be a portion of a DL-PRS resource, a DL-PRS resource within a DL-PRS resource set, a DL-PRS resource set, a DL-PRS in a PFL, a DL-PRS resource of a TRP, or a DL-PRS resource of the same BWP) corresponds to a frequency hopping, and several frequency hoppings are received in different symbols and combined as a whole. If different hops are associated with different BWPs / CCs / PFLs, the UE can use multiple CCs to receive and measure multiple hops of the DL-PRS.
[0119] Signalling from the gNB to the UE (DCI or MAC CE) can be used to activate / deactivate a PPW with PPW ID = i in CC#x and another PPW with PPW ID = j in another CC#y, where CC#x and CC#y are associated or in the same CC group. This association can be configured via higher-layer signaling (e.g., RRC signaling) or signaling notified by the LMF. The signaling (DCI or MAC CE) can also include DL-PRS frequency hopping information. Furthermore, the PPW IDs of the associated serving cells (CC groups) are different and associated with different frequency hopping IDs. The association between the frequency hopping ID and the PPW ID can be (pre)configured via higher-layer signaling (e.g., RRC signaling) or signaling notified by the LMF. The association of multiple PPW configurations can also be (pre)configured via higher-layer signaling. Specifically, at least one of the following parameters should be the same for PPW configurations associated with multiple frequency hopping: PPW period, PPW length, priority between PDCCH / PDSCH / CSI-RS and DL-PRS, and PPW type. If multiple power windows (PPWs) have the same period, the start offset (e.g., the start time slot) can be set differently. Figure 8 As shown in "Option 1", PPW 1 is associated with jump 1, PPW 2 is associated with jump 2, and PPW 3 is associated with jump 3.
[0120] Alternatively, multiple PPWs corresponding to different frequency hopping IDs can share the same PPW ID of the reference serving cell. Until higher-level configuration, once the PPW of the reference serving cell is activated / deactivated, the PPWs of other serving cells can be automatically activated / deactivated with the same configuration (e.g., period, length, type, priority) but different start times (slots / symbols).
[0121] Alternatively, such as Figure 8 As shown in "Option 2", multiple DL-PRS frequency hopping can correspond to the same PPW configuration, where the time span of the PPW includes all frequency hopping opportunities.
[0122] If the UE is located within an active DL BWP and has the same set of physical parameters as the active DL BWP of the serving cell, the UE is expected to measure the DL PRS within the PPW. If the physical parameter sets of different active DL BWPs of the aggregated serving cell are different, the timing configuration (e.g., start time) of the PPW is based on the maximum or minimum subcarrier spacing in the active DL BWPs of the aggregated serving cell.
[0123] If you want to activate / deactivate PPW for each CC, then the PPW activation / deactivation command is MAC CE as follows: Figure 9 specified.
[0124] It has a variable size as defined below:
[0125] -Serving Cell ID: This field indicates the identifier of the serving cell to which the MAC CE is applied.
[0126] The length of this field is 5 bits.
[0127] -PPW ID: This field indicates the PPW configured on the active DL BWP of the serving cell identified by the serving cell ID mentioned above. Index 0 corresponds to the first entry in the PPW configuration list of this BWP, index 1 corresponds to the second entry in the list, and so on. This field is 2 bits long; the PPW ID can be the same for different serving cells, and each serving cell is associated with a serving cell ID.
[0128] - Hop ID: This field indicates the DL-PRS hopping ID. The length of this field is related to the maximum number of DL-PRS hopping that the gNB or LMF can configure and / or the maximum number of DL-PRS hopping that the UE can support.
[0129] -A / D: This field indicates whether the PPW is active or deactivated. Setting this field to 1 indicates active, otherwise deactivated. This field is 1 bit long.
[0130] Example 5
[0131] Among other things, this section also discloses UE capabilities.
[0132] Compared to processing DL-PRS for a single PFL, processing DL-PRS resources for multiple aggregated PFLs significantly increases UE complexity. Therefore, the UE should report its ability to process and measure DL-PRS within the PPW in a CA scenario to the LMF or gNB before DL-PRS configuration / transmission at the LMF or gNB. Furthermore, the UE can report different capabilities for different serving cell frequency bands; which serving cell should be selected as the basis for UE capabilities requires further investigation.
[0133] One solution is to report UE PRS processing capabilities outside the MG and within the PRS processing window for individual PRS PFLs and aggregated PFLs (PRS PFL groups) of the frequency band.
[0134] Supported PRS processing types support one or more of the following, provided that the UE determines that DL PRS has higher priority for PRS measurements outside of MG and within a PRS processing window shared by multiple PFLs in a PFL group:
[0135] Type 1A refers to determining the priority of DL PRS among other DL signals / channels within all OFDM symbols in a PRS processing window shared by multiple PFLs in a PFL group. DL signals / channels from all DL CCs (per UE) are affected on both LTE and NR.
[0136] Type 1B refers to determining the priority of DL PRS among other DL signals / channels within all OFDM symbols in a PRS processing window shared by multiple PFLs in a PFL group. DL signals / channels from a certain frequency band are affected.
[0137] Type 2 refers to determining the priority of DLPRS among other DL signals / channels only within the DL PRS symbol in the PRS processing window shared by multiple PFLs in a PFL group.
[0138] The ability to support different PRS processing types for multiple PFLs within a PFL group, supporting one or more of the following:
[0139] ■ The processing types of the PRS processing windows of multiple PFLs are different.
[0140] ■ The processing type of multiple PFL PRS processing windows must be the same.
[0141] Supports PRS priority processing options outside of MG and in a PRS processing window shared by multiple PFLs in a PFL group: Option 1, Option 2, or Option 3.
[0142] ■Option 1: Supports "st1" and "st3"
[0143] ■Option 2: Supports "st1", "st2", and "st3"
[0144] Option 3: Support "st1"
[0145] ■Note:
[0146] ● Has a value 'st1', where DL PRS has higher priority than all DL signals / channels except SSB, or
[0147] ● Has a value 'st2', where the DL PRS has a lower priority than the PDCCH and PDSCH scheduled by DCI format 1_1 or 1_2, where the priority indicator field in the corresponding DCI format is set to 1, and the DL PRS has a higher priority than other DL signals / channels except SSB, or
[0148] ● It has the value 'st3', where DL PRS has a lower priority than all DL signals / channels except SSB.
[0149] (N) outside of MG f T f )combination
[0150] Assuming maximum DL PRS bandwidth (MHz), UE per T f The duration N of a DL PRS symbol, which can be processed in milliseconds. f It is supported and reported by the UE.
[0151] Assuming maximum DL PRS bandwidth (MHz), the UE in T f The duration N of DL PRS symbols (in milliseconds) that can be processed within 2ms f 2. It is supported and reported by the UE.
[0152] One or more of the following conditions must be met:
[0153] ◆N f <= N or N f <N
[0154] ◆T f <= T or T f <T
[0155] ◆N f 2 <= N2 or N f 2 <N2
[0156] ◆T f 2 <= T2 or T f 2 <T2
[0157] ◆N f = F(N,f), where F(x) is a function of x, for example, N f =1 / f N or N f =1 / f N+Δ
[0158] ◆N f 2 = F(N², f), where F(x) is a function of x, for example, N f 2 = 1 / f N2 or N f 2 = 1 / f N2 + Δ
[0159] ◆T f = F(T,f), where F(x) is a function of x, for example, T f =1 / f T or T f =1 / f T+Δ
[0160] ◆T f 2 = F(T2,f), where F(x) is a function of x, for example, T f 2 = 1 / f T2 or T f 2 = 1 / f T2 + Δ is the maximum number of DL PRS resources that the UE can process in time slots outside of the MG.
[0161] ■The maximum number of DL PRS resources that a UE can process simultaneously in different frequency layers in a time slot outside of MG is less than the maximum number of DL PRS resources in a single frequency layer.
[0162] The UE supports and reports the maximum DL PRS bandwidth in MHz for PRS measurements outside the MG within the PPW.
[0163] ■ This parameter is greater than the maximum DL-PRS bandwidth measured in a PFL outside of the MF within the PPW.
[0164] ■ This parameter is highly correlated with or proportional to the maximum number of PFLs supported by the UE for carrier aggregation.
[0165] ■ This parameter includes the gap length between the two frequency layers.
[0166] Timing offset or phase shift between different CCs
[0167] ■ When a UE receives DL-PRS within a PPW in different CCs, the UE can report its supported minimum or maximum timing / phase shift. The UE can also report different timing / phase shifts for different CCs / serving cells / PRS bandwidths.

[0169] Among other things, this section also discloses the requirements for the measurement period.
[0170] When the physical layer receives the last NR-TDOA-ProvideAssistanceData message and NR-TDOA-RequestLocationInformation message from the LMF via LPP, the UE should be able to perform the measurement during the time period T as defined below. RSTD,Total Multiple (up to UE capabilities) DL RSTD measurements defined in Internal Measurement TS 38.215:

[0175] T effect,i It is the period of PRS RSTD measurement in the positioning frequency layer i.
[0176] During the measurement period T as defined below RSTD,i During this period, the frequency layer i is located within the active BWP:

[0190] PPWRP i It is the repetition period of the PRS processing window applicable to measurements in the positioning frequency layer i.
[0191] T PRS,i It is the period of the silent DL PRS resource on the location frequency layer i.
[0192] If more than one PRS cycle is configured in positioning frequency layer i, then the least common multiple of the PRS cycles in all DL PRS resource sets in the positioning frequency layer is used. To export T PRS,i ,in

[0196] L muting It is a bitmap {b 1 The size of}.
[0197] When the physical layer receives the NR-DL-AoD-ProvideAssistanceData message and the NR-DL-AoD-RequestLocationInformation message from the LMF via LPP, the UE should be able to... PRS-RSRP,total Within milliseconds, multiple PRS-RSRP measurements (up to UE capability) defined in TS 38.215 are measured without measurement gaps from the configured PRS resource of the configured TRP on the configured positioning frequency layer.
[0198]
[0199] On the configured positioning frequency layer i, T PRS-RSRP,i Defined as:
[0200]
[0201] For PRS measurements without MG configured for the UE, the measurement time period of PRS-RSRP is required to be reused for PRS-RSRPP.
[0202] When the physical layer receives the last NR-Multi-RTT-ProvideAssistanceData message and NR-Multi-RTT-RequestLocationInformation message from the LMF via LPP, the UE should be able to measure the time period T. UERx T x, T ota l The ms internally configures the positioning frequency layer to measure multiple (up to UE capability) UE Rx-Tx time difference measurements as defined in TS 38.215.
[0203]
[0204] In the configured positioning frequency layer i, during the measurement period T UERxTx_wo_gap,i Inside.
[0205]
[0206] As shown at the beginning of this embodiment, the positioning measurement period is calculated based on the PFL (i is the index of the PFL). Within a PPW configuration or positioning measurement interval configuration, it is expected that the UE will measure only a single DL-PRS PFL. Figure 10 As shown, different positioning MGs or activated PPWs do not overlap in the time domain.
[0207] However, as Figure 11 As shown, in the CA scenario, the time difference of DL-PRS RSTD / RSRP / RSRPP / Rx-Tx is not measured separately on multiple aggregated PFLs, and the PFL used as the basis for calculating the measurement period may not be very suitable or accurate.
[0208] The measurement period of DL-PRS measured simultaneously in multiple PFLs should not be less than or greater than the measurement period of DL-PRS measured in one PFL, but should not be greater than or less than the sum of the measurement periods of multiple PFLs.
[0209] In the following paragraphs, we provide two solutions:
[0210] Solution 1
[0211] For multiple aggregated frequency layer positioning measurement periods, since DL-PRS is received and measured simultaneously in L1 aggregated PFLs, L1 aggregated PFLs can be considered as one PFL. The measurement period requirements of the reference PFL(r) can be used as a reference for the measurement period requirements of other PFLs in the same group.
[0212]
[0213] Where L is the total number of positioning frequency layers, L = L1 + L2. L1 is the number of positioning frequency layers used for bandwidth / carrier aggregation. L2 is the total number of PFLs minus the number of PFLs used for bandwidth / carrier aggregation.
[0214] A scaling factor S can be introduced because the complexity of the UE simultaneously measuring DL-PRS in multiple aggregated PFLs is greater than the complexity of the UE measuring DL-PRS in a single PFL. S ≤ 1 or S < 1
[0215] Alternatively, scaling factor It is greater than 1 and is associated with the number of positioning frequency layers used for bandwidth / carrier aggregation.
[0216]
[0217] Alternatively, an offset can be introduced into the measurement time period equation. (For example, T) RSTD,Total T PRS-RSRP,Total T PRS-RSRPP,Total and T UERxTx,Total The measurement timeframes of the L1 frequency layers to be aggregated are longer than the measurement timeframes of the reference frequency layers with added offset. Furthermore, the offset... It is related to the number of positioning frequency layers used for bandwidth / carrier aggregation. A larger L1 value indicates a larger offset, and therefore a longer measurement period. For example, Where 0 < Δ ≤ 1 or 0 < Δ < 1
[0218]
[0219]
[0220] Based on the reference frequency layer, scaling factors, or offsets, or both scaling factors and offsets can be introduced into the measurement time period equation.
[0221] Solution 2
[0222] The design of the measurement time period requirement formula should take into account measurements performed in the aggregation PFL and measurements performed in other PFLs not used for carrier aggregation, respectively.
[0223] For measurements performed in aggregated PFLs, a carrier-specific scaling factor can be introduced for PRS measurements. As shown in the following formula, the calculation of the measurement time period requirement is separated into L1 and L2.
[0224]
[0225] or
[0226]
[0227] or
[0228]
[0229] or
[0230]
[0231]
[0232] or
[0233]
[0234] Where L is the total number of positioning frequency layers, L = L1 + L2. L1 is the number of positioning frequency layers used for bandwidth / carrier aggregation. L2 is the total number of PFLs minus the number of PFLs used for bandwidth / carrier aggregation.
[0235] For measurement periods without MG:
[0236] For measurement time periods of multiple PFLs within multiple active PPWs, a carrier-specific scaling factor, such as CSSF, can be introduced for PRS measurements. PRS_within_PPW,i RSTDT RSTD,i RSRP T PRS-RSRP,i and RSRPP T PRS-RSRPP,i Rx-Tx time difference T UERxTx,i The formula for the required non-MG measurement period is as follows:
[0237]
[0238] When multiple positioning frequency layers are configured
[0239] - For each positioning frequency layer i, assuming no other positioning frequency layers are configured, then CSSF PRS_within_PPW,i This is achieved through the following steps.
[0240] -For each RRM frequency layer i, CSSF PRS_within_PPW,i The following conclusions can be drawn:
[0241] -Assuming only the positioning frequency layer k is configured, then the intermediate CSSF PRS_within_PPW,i,k The following steps were used to obtain the results, and
[0242] -CSSF PRS_within_PPW,i =max(CSSF PRS_within_PPW,i,k ), where k = 0......K-1, and K is the number of configured positioning frequency layers.
[0243] CSSF PRS_within_PPW,i The number of positioning frequency layers between NR and R i Related, where R i It is the maximum ratio of the number of candidate PPWs to be measured for measurement object i to the number of PPWs that are candidates for measurement object i but not used for long-term measurement.
[0244] L available_PRS,i It is in T available_PRS,i The duration of available PRS in positioning frequency layer i to be measured during this period is calculated in the same way as the PRS duration K defined in Clause 5.1.6.5 of TS 38.214. For L available_PRS,i The calculation is as follows: if multiple PFLs share the same PPW configuration, only PRS resources that are not silent and fully or partially overlap with the PPW are considered. If each PFL is associated with one PPW configuration, and multiple PFLs or PPW configurations are associated, only PRS resources that are not silent and fully or partially overlap with the common parts of multiple PPWs are considered.
[0245] T available_PRS,i =LCM(T PRS,i PPWRP i ), T P RS ,i With PPWRP i The least common multiple between.
[0246] If multiple PFLs share the same PPW configuration (frequency layer i is the reference frequency layer), then PPWRP i This is the repetition period of the PRS processing window applicable to measurements in the positioning frequency layer i. If each PFL is associated with a PPW configuration, and multiple PFLs or PPW configurations are associated, then PPWRP... i It is the least common multiple of the PRS processing window for measurements in the positioning frequency layer group.
[0247] T PRS,i It is the period of silent DL PRS resources on the positioning frequency layer i.
[0248] If each PFL is associated with one PPW configuration, and multiple PFLs or PPW configurations are associated, then time T RSTD_wo_gap,i T PRS-RSRP_wo_gap,i T UERxTx_wo_gap,i It can begin with the first instance of an active PPW used to measure the location frequency layer i, or after the NR-TDOA-ProvideAssistanceData message and the NR-TDOA-RequestLocationInformation message are delivered from the LMF to the UE's physical layer via the LPP, starting with the first overlapping instance of an active PPW aligned with one or more DL PRS resources in the auxiliary data.
[0249] If multiple PFLs share the same PPW configuration, then time T RSTD_wo_gap,i T PRS-RSRP_wo_gap,i T UERxTx_wo_gap,i Start with the first instance of the activated PPW used to measure the reference positioning frequency layer.
[0250] One of the multiple frequency layers to be aggregated can be the frequency layer used to calculate T. RSTD_wo_gap T PRS-RSRP_wo_gap T PRS-RSRPP_wo_gap T UERxTx_wo_gap Reference frequency layer
[0251] Example 7
[0252] Among other things, this section also discloses examples of SRS configurations.
[0253] As mentioned above, bandwidth is crucial for positioning accuracy. Simultaneous transmission of SRS (for simplicity, we will use SRS in the following paragraphs) for positioning purposes across multiple CCs significantly expands the bandwidth of SRS resources, thus improving positioning accuracy. Firstly, multiple BWPs can be configured, each belonging to a CC / carrier / cell, and multiple BWPs can be activated simultaneously via a single signaling (DCI, RRC, or gNB can set a timer to activate multiple BWPs simultaneously).
[0254] If multiple BWPs belonging to a CC / carrier / cell are not activated simultaneously, the gNB should ensure that SRS scheduling occurs only when all corresponding BWPs are activated. For example, Figure 12 As shown, the scheduling of SRS transmissions should not be earlier than t2.
[0255] A single scheduling grant (DCI for dynamic scheduling and MAC CE for semi-persistent scheduling) can schedule SRS resources or sets of SRS resources from multiple CCs, where the SRS resources are sent simultaneously in multiple CCs.
[0256] Specifically, such as Figure 13 As shown, a signaling (DCI or MAC CE) can be used to schedule an SRS resource or resource set ID = i in CC#1, and another location RS resource or resource set ID = j in CC#2, where CC#1 and CC#2 are associated or in the same CC group.
[0257] Specifically, multiple SRS resources and / or resource sets belonging to the same CC group share some common parameters. These common parameters include at least one or more of the following: SRS resource set ID, SRS resource ID, SRS resource ID list, resource type (aperiodic, semi-persistent, periodic), SRS power control α value, SRS power control p0 value, path loss reference RS (SSB, DL-PRS), number of SRS ports, transmission comb size, comb offset, cyclic shift, resource mapping (start position, number of symbols), frequency domain shift, frequency hopping, group or sequence hopping, sequence ID, and spatial relationship information (serving cell RS, SSB, DL-PRS).
[0258] The SRS resource ID or resource set ID scheduled by multiple CCs can be the same. The BWP IDs of multiple CCs are associated, or can be the same, and can be activated simultaneously.
[0259] Furthermore, the timing offset between the trigger authorization (DCI or MAC CE) and the actual transmission of SRS resources can be included in the configuration via RRC from the gNB or signaling from the LMF, and further sent to the UE via scheduling authorization. Due to the inconsistent configurations of different CCs (e.g., SCS or timing sets), the timing offset is based on the SCS of all CCs involved in the aggregated SRS transmission (at least one of the following: the maximum or minimum SCS of the CCs in the group).
[0260] Figure 14 An exemplary block diagram of a hardware platform 1400 is shown, which may be part of a network device (e.g., a base station) or a communication device (e.g., a user equipment (UE)). The hardware platform 1400 includes at least one processor 1410 and a memory 1405 on which instructions are stored. These instructions, when executed by the processor 1410, configure the hardware platform 1400 to perform... In some embodiments, the BS sends information to the UE (sometimes referred to as the downlink direction, as shown by arrows 1541, 1542, and 1543), which then enables subsequent communication from the UE to the BS (e.g., in the direction from the UE to the BS, sometimes referred to as the uplink direction, as shown by dashed arrows 1531, 1532, and 1533). The UE can be, for example, a smartphone, tablet, mobile computer, machine-to-machine (M2M) device, Internet of Things (IoT) device, etc.
