Abstract

The present disclosure relates to user equipment (UE) techniques for constraining simultaneous use of network slices. Techniques discussed herein facilitate configuring network slices for user equipments (UEs) that support constraints on slice simultaneous operation. One exemplary embodiment is a UE device configured to transmit a registration request message to request registration on a set of requested network slices; and receiving a registration acceptance message indicating that the UE is registered to a set of permitted network slices, and wherein the registration acceptance message indicates slice compatibility information for each permitted network slice of the set of permitted network slices for the UE, wherein the slice compatibility information for each allowed network slice indicates whether other configured network slices in the set of configured network slices are compatible with the configured network slice for simultaneous operation by the UE.
