Description

Technical Field

[0001] Exemplary embodiments of this disclosure generally relate to a personal protective equipment (PPE), and more specifically, to a face shield lens for a face mask and a method thereof. Background Technology

[0002] Self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBAs) are essential personal protective equipment (PPE) used in industrial environments to protect workers from inhaling harmful airborne contaminants such as dust, fumes, chemicals, and biohazards. Depending on the required level of protection, SCBAs come in various types, such as half-face or full-face respirators. Full-face respirators offer a higher level of safety by covering the entire face and protecting the eyes, nose, and mouth. However, these respirators have several drawbacks, such as a typically limited field of view (FOV), which can impair a worker's peripheral vision and spatial awareness. Additionally, attaching and maintaining critical components such as the inhalation valve, exhalation valve, and voice diaphragm can be challenging. These components are essential for proper airflow, contamination prevention, and communication, but improper assembly or wear can lead to leaks, reduced protection, or difficulty in speech intelligibility.

[0003] The inventors have discovered numerous defects and problems in the prior art and processes, which are the subject of the embodiments described herein. Through effort, ingenuity, and innovation, many of these defects and problems have been solved by developing solutions included in the embodiments of this disclosure, many examples of which are described in detail herein.
