Voltage converter and method for controlling a voltage converter

Abstract

A voltage converter (10) comprises a first voltage converter side (11), a second voltage converter side (12), a top DC / DC converter (20) having a first top side (21) and a second top side (22), a bottom DC / DC converter (30) having a first bottom side (31) and a second bottom side (32), a switching circuit (13), and a controller (14). The first top side (21) and the first bottom side (31) are coupled in parallel to the first voltage converter side (11). The controller (14) controls the switching circuit (13) such that the second top side (22) and the second bottom side (32) are coupled in parallel to the second voltage converter side (12) in a parallel operation (OP) or coupled in series to the second voltage converter side (12) in a series operation (OS). Furthermore, a method for controlling a voltage converter (10) is provided.
