Technical Problem

[0010]当前,所有小区间移动性涉及完整的层2(L2)和层1(L1,即PHY)重置,这导致与小区内波束切换相比,延迟更长、信令开销增加、以及中断更长

Benefits of technology

[0060] These and other embodiments described herein can provide a variety of advantages and/or benefits. For example, embodiments can prevent activation state mismatch between the UE and the RAN node serving the target cell for L3 mobility procedures. The UE can deactivate TCI states that are no longer needed, thereby reducing the energy consumed due to TCI state maintenance. In addition, embodiments can prevent unpredictable UE behavior or failures due to exceeding the maximum number of active TCI states. Furthermore, embodiments can facilitate predictable downtime for subsequent LTM procedures because the RAN node knows the activation state of the UE's TCI states for LTM candidate cells. At a high level, embodiments improve the coexistence between LTM and L3 mobility for the UE in the RAN.

Abstract

Embodiments include methods for a user equipment configured to perform layer 1 / layer 2 triggered inter-cell mobility (LTM) in a radio access network (RAN). Such methods include receiving, from a first RAN node, LTM candidate configurations associated with respective LTM candidate cells. Each LTM configuration includes a transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state configuration that specifies a TCI state for the LTM candidate cell and an execution condition for a LTM cell switch to the LTM candidate cell. Such methods include activating, in response to a command from the first RAN node, at least one TCI state for a first LTM candidate cell and receiving, from the first RAN node, a layer 3 command to perform a layer 3 mobility procedure from a serving cell to a target cell. Such methods include performing, during or after the layer 3 mobility procedure, a TCI state management operation that includes deactivating a first set of activated TCI states for the first LTM candidate cell.
