Device and method for processing a Doppler signal

Abstract

Device (100) with: an interface (101) configured to receive a Doppler signal; and a processing system (112) connected to the interface (101) which receives the Doppler signal, wherein the processing system (112) is configured to generate a two-sided velocity spectrum from the Doppler signal which contains several discrete frequency bins, wherein the two-sided velocity spectrum distinguishes spectral elements, and to process one or more velocity spectrum bin pairs with respect to several local gate thresholds, wherein the one or more velocity spectrum bin pairs are arranged symmetrically around one or more carrier wave bins, and wherein each velocity spectrum bin pair is processed with respect to a corresponding local gate threshold of the several local gate thresholds.
