Abstract
The present invention relates to a method for a radar system and a radar system for robust environmental sensing, even in the presence of other, potentially interfering radar systems. The radar system comprises transmitters with transmitting antennas for emitting signals, which contain one or more sequences of K individual signals; receivers with receiving antennas for receiving signals reflected from objects, wherein at least I digital received values per receiving antenna are generated in the receivers for each of the K individual transmitted signals; and signal processing means for processing the received signals, wherein the digital signal processing means may include a further transformation over the received signals originating from several transmitting and / or receiving antennas, which is referred to as the first forward transformation. After this initial multidimensional forward transformation, recognizable signal components are at least partially extracted. A one- or multidimensional transformation, at least partially inverse to the forward transformation, is then performed and is called the inverse transformation. Following this inverse transformation, recognizable interference is at least partially suppressed. A second one- or multidimensional forward transformation is then performed, using the results of the first and second forward transformations to detect signal components and thus objects in the environment.
