AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

In spinning mills, the manual transportation of numerous spinning cans between textile machines is labor-intensive and inefficient, necessitating the development of a driverless transport device that can automate this process while ensuring safety and minimizing complexity.

Method used

A driverless transport device with a self-propelled vehicle that has a chassis, a transport surface for the receptacle, fastening elements, an on-board electrical system, and a safety device for shock detection, where the receptacle completely covers the vehicle in the assembled state, reducing the risk of personal accidents and property damage by protecting the vehicle's components and allowing the device to operate like a conventional spinning can.

Benefits of technology

The solution enables safer and more efficient transportation of spinning cans by reducing the risk of accidents and property damage, as the vehicle is designed to stop upon collision, and its compact design allows it to navigate through work areas without protruding components, enhancing personal protection and operational efficiency.

Abstract

The invention relates to a driverless transport device (1) comprising a self-driving vehicle (3) for transporting a receiving container (2; 202) for a sliver between sliver-delivering and sliver-supplied textile machines over an underlying surface (4). The vehicle (3) has a chassis (24) with multiple wheels (6, 7, 8, 9), a vehicle body (25) which is supported by the chassis (24) and which comprises a transport surface (26) for the receiving container (2; 202), securing elements (11.2) for securing the receiving container (2; 202) to the vehicle body (25), an onboard electrical system (23) which is arranged on the vehicle body (25) and which comprises an electric energy storage device (28), an electric drive unit (32), and a control unit (42), and a safety device (52) which is arranged on the vehicle (3) for detecting an impact, wherein the safety device (52) is connected to the control unit (42) so as to transmit signals and generates a switch signal upon striking an obstacle. The invention is characterized in that the vehicle (3) is dimensioned such that in an installed state, in which the receiving container (2;202) contacts the transport surface (26) and is secured to the vehicle body (25), the receiving container (2) completely covers the chassis (24), the electric drive unit (32), and the electric energy storage device (28).
