AI Technical Summary
Technical Problem
Relays in vehicle power supply systems deteriorate rapidly due to repeated on-off cycles, leading to premature failure and the need for frequent replacements.
Method used
Incorporating a parallel circuit with a resistor in series to a relay and providing multiple relay circuits in the power path between the battery and capacitor, along with a control unit to manage relay usage based on deterioration and switching conditions, thereby reducing inrush current and evenly distributing wear.
Benefits of technology
This configuration extends the lifespan of relays by minimizing inrush current and ensuring even wear, thus reducing the frequency of replacements.

Abstract
To easily extend life of a device including a relay.SOLUTION: An on-vehicle power supply device 10 is used in an on-vehicle power supply system 100. The on-vehicle power supply system 100 includes: a battery 20; a capacitor 22; and a power path 21 provided between the battery 20 and the capacitor 22. The on-vehicle power supply device 10 includes a relay 51 and a parallel circuit 52 provided in parallel with the relay 51. The parallel circuit 52 has a configuration in which a parallel relay 53 and a resistance unit 54 are connected in series. Multiple relay circuits 50 each composed of the relay 51 and the parallel circuit 52 are provided on the power path 21 between the battery 20 and the capacitor 22.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
