AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing treatments for proliferative diseases like cancer and autoimmune disorders are limited by the inability to effectively modulate the proliferation of CD25-expressing regulatory T cells, which suppress effector T cell responses.

Method used

Development of CD25 antibodies that specifically bind to the CD25 protein without blocking IL-2 ligand binding, allowing for the depletion of regulatory T cells and potentially enhancing effector T cell activity, including human, chimeric, and humanized monoclonal antibodies with specific epitope binding properties.

Benefits of technology

The CD25 antibodies effectively deplete regulatory T cells, potentially enhancing effector T cell responses, providing a therapeutic approach for cancer and autoimmune disorders.

Abstract

To provide an antibody that specifically bonds to CD25.SOLUTION: In one aspect, provided is a monoclonal CD25 antibody that bonds to human CD25 and has at least one of a plurality of properties including the following properties: a. the antibody does not inhibit bond with α-chain (CD25) of IL-2 receptor of IL-2 ligand, and bonds with an epitope different from one binding to 7G7B6; b. the antibody does not inhibit bond with α-chain (CD25) of IL-2 receptor of IL-2 ligand, but inhibits trimerization of β-chain, γ-chain and α-chain (CD25) of IL-2 receptor; and c. the antibody inhibits bond with α-chain, β-chain, and / or γ-chain of IL-2 receptor of IL-2 ligand, and bonds with an epitope different from one binding to Daclizumab or Basiliximab. The CD25 antibody can be therapeutically used for treating cancer or autoimmune disease.SELECTED DRAWING: None
