Abstract

To provide an aqueous ballpoint pen ink composition that is resistant to foaming, suppresses variation in ink filling amount or ink leakage during ballpoint pen production, and prevents deterioration in writing performance over time, and a ballpoint pen made using the same.SOLUTION: An aqueous ballpoint pen ink composition comprises a colorant, water, a water-soluble organic solvent, a silicone-based surfactant, and a defoaming agent, wherein the defoaming agent comprises at least one of a self-emulsifying silicone defoaming agent and an emulsion-type defoaming agent.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
