Abstract

The present invention relates to a carbamoylphenylalaninol compound and a method of using the same for enhancing one or more cognitive functions in subjects having cognitive impairments associated with obstructive sleep apnea and excessive daytime sleepiness, and for treating one or more cognitive impairments in such subjects.

Claims

1. A method for enhancing one or more cognitive functions, comprising a therapeutically effective dose of Formula II for subjects with cognitive impairment associated with obstructive sleep apnea and excessive daytime sleepiness. 【Chemistry 1】 A method comprising administering a compound or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof to thereby enhance one or more cognitive impairments in the subject.

2. The compound is of formula I 【Chemistry 2】 The method according to claim 1, wherein the compound is or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

3. The method according to claim 1, wherein the compound is the hydrochloride salt of the compound.

4. The method according to claim 1, wherein the compound is administered orally.

5. The method according to claim 1, wherein one or more cognitive functions are selected from executive function, memory, and learning.

6. The method according to claim 1, wherein the cognitive function is an executive function.

7. The method according to claim 1, wherein the cognitive function is memory.

8. The method according to claim 1, wherein the cognitive function is learning.

9. The method according to claim 1, wherein the one or more cognitive functions are selected from working memory, cognitive flexibility, and response inhibition.

10. The method according to claim 1, wherein the compound is present in a pharmaceutical formulation containing a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

11. The method according to claim 1, further comprising administering a nootropic drug to a subject in need thereof.

A method for treating one or more cognitive impairments in a subject having cognitive impairments associated with obstructive sleep apnea and excessive daytime sleepiness, wherein the therapeutic effective dose is given by formula II 【Transformation 3】 A method comprising administering a compound or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof to a subject having one or more cognitive impairments, thereby treating one or more cognitive impairments in the subject.
