To provide an air secondary battery catalyst capable of suppressing the occurrence of a minute short circuit more than conventionally, thereby improving cycle life characteristics, and an air secondary battery including the air secondary battery catalyst.SOLUTION: A battery 2 includes an electrode group 10 including an air electrode 16 and a negative electrode 12 superimposed via a separator 14, and a container 4 containing the electrode group 10 together with an alkaline electrolyte 82, and the air electrode 16 contains an air secondary battery catalyst, and this air secondary battery catalyst has a pyrochlore crystal structure represented by the composition formula Bi2Ru2O7, and contains a bismuth ruthenium composite oxide having a lattice constant of 10.13 Å or more and 10.24 Å or less in this crystal structure.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
