Abstract

The VTOL interceptor configuration is operated by a single pilot and consists of or comprises a first interceptor and a second interceptor. The first interceptor can control at least one axis of movement, and the second interceptor can control at least three axes of movement. The first interceptor is configured to be operated by a first hand of the pilot, and the second interceptor is configured to be operated by a second hand of the pilot that is different from the first hand. These two-hand operated interceptors allow for the use of reliable operation based on stick movement (i.e., each hand of the pilot grasps a respective interceptor) instead of relying on the movement of switches, knobs, etc., which may not allow for precision control in vibration or turbulent environments or conditions.
