Cutting drum for labeling machine

Abstract

A cutting drum for a labeling machine comprises a drum body (2), which is rotatable about its axis (2a) and is designed to receive, on its side, a label ribbon (120) on which a plurality of labels are successively printed. Along the periphery of the drum body (2), there are at least one cutting device (4), each comprising a suction chamber (5). The suction chambers open on the outer surface of the drum and house at least one blade (6). The suction chambers (5) are connectable to air suction means (7) for drawing the label ribbon (120) towards the interior of the suction chamber (5) and against the blade (6) to cause the label ribbon (120) to be cut. The cutting devices (4) each comprise a box-shaped body (8) which defines a suction chamber (5) therein and which supports the blade (6). The box-shaped body (8) is removably supported by the drum body (2). The blade (6) is connected to the box (8) by means of a removable holding means.
