Abstract

To provide an ultrasonic endoscope capable of suppressing deterioration in quality of an ultrasonic image and capable of reducing its diameter.SOLUTION: An ultrasonic endoscope includes an insertion part having an ultrasonic vibrator array in which a plurality of ultrasonic vibrators is arranged, and a cable inserted into the insertion part, and a base plate for electrically connecting the plurality of ultrasonic vibrators and the cable. The cable includes a first cable bundle consisting of a plurality of signal lines and a ground line, a first shield layer for coating the first cable bundle, and a second cable bundle consisting of non-coaxial cables. The base plate includes a plurality of electrode pads connected to the plurality of ultrasonic vibrators respectively. The electrode pads in the same number as the number of signal lines of the first cable bundle are disposed collectively on the base plate. A plurality of the signal lines of the first cable bundle is connected to the plurality of electrode pads, forming a signal line group. The signal line group includes two kinds or more of signal lines with different lengths from a tip of the first cable bundle exposed at least from the first shield layer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
