AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

The conventional R-type fire alarm equipment renewal process is time-consuming and costly, as all existing receivers and fire detectors need to be replaced, and the address for the new fire detector must be set manually, requiring significant effort and resources.

Method used

A method for renewing fire alarm facilities by replacing the receiver, fire detector, and transmission line with new components, using communication test signals to measure transmission times, generate correspondence information, and automatically set the address for the new fire detector, reducing the need for manual address setting.

Benefits of technology

This method significantly reduces the workload and costs associated with fire alarm equipment renewal by automating the address setting process for new fire detectors, ensuring efficient and accurate address configuration without the need for manual intervention.

Abstract

To enable easy setting of detector addresses and interlocking control information when renewing receivers of a fire alarm facility and fire detectors.SOLUTION: A fire alarm facility renewal method measures a transmission time by sending and receiving a test signal specifying an address of a fire detector 14, stores first correspondence information which is set to be the address after updating a receiver 10 to a new receiver 100, measures the transmission time by sending and receiving a test signal specifying a serial number of a new fire detector 114 after updating the fire detector 14 to the new fire detector 114, stores second correspondence information which is set to be the serial number, and generates third correspondence information which is a set of the address and the serial number by determining the match of the transmission time between the first correspondence information and the second correspondence information. The new receiver 100 sets the same address for the new fire detector 114 as the existing fire detector 14 by sending an address setting signal specifying the serial number of the new fire detector 114 from the third correspondence information after updating a transmission path 12 to a new transmission path.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
