AI Technical Summary
Technical Problem
Conventional catalyst materials have weak supporting forces for metal catalyst particles, leading to aggregation and decreased catalytic activity due to deterioration.
Method used
A catalyst material with a molecular bonding layer derived from a triazine derivative, featuring functional groups that chemically bond with both the metal catalyst particles and the support, enhancing the support strength and preventing aggregation.
Benefits of technology
The improved support strength suppresses metal catalyst particle aggregation, maintaining catalytic performance even under high temperatures and reducing corrosion of the support.

Abstract
To provide a catalyst material capable of improving a carrying capacity of metal catalyst particles.SOLUTION: A catalyst material 1 includes a carrier 2, a plurality of metal catalyst particles 4 supported on a surface of the carrier 2, and a molecular bonding layer 3 covering the surface of the carrier 2 and surfaces of the plurality of metal catalyst particles 4. The molecular bonding layer 3 has a structure derived from a monomer that comprises a triazine derivative including a first functional group that can be chemically bonded with the metal catalyst particles 4, a second functional group that can be chemically bonded with the carrier 2, and a triazine ring. In the catalyst material 1, the first functional group of the triazine derivative in the molecular bonding layer 3 forms a chemical bond with the metal catalyst particles 4, and the second functional group of the triazine derivative in the molecular bonding layer 3 forms a chemical bond with the carrier 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
