Abstract

A method, system, and device for wireless communication are described, in which a temporary reference signal may be configured to be used for secondary cell (SCell) activation. A user equipment (UE) may perform wireless communication with a first serving cell supported by a base station and may receive an indication that the SCell is activated. As a result of activating the SCell, the UE may perform one or more measurements on the reference signal of the activated SCell. The one or more measurements may be performed on the SCell's temporary reference signal having one or more parameters that are indicated to the UE along with the SCell activation information. The one or more parameters may be indicated by downlink control information (DCI), one or more medium access control (MAC) control elements, implicit signaling, or any combination thereof.
