Abstract
Description
Automatic deployment device for no-entry partitions on passenger conveyors
[0001] The present invention relates to an automatic deployment device for no-entry partitions on passenger conveyors, and in particular to a device that can automatically deploy a no-entry partition at the entrance of a passenger conveyor when an abnormality occurs, and that does not require the operation of a large power source when deploying the no-entry partition.
[0002] Conventionally, in passenger conveyors, such as escalators and moving walkways, that move passengers, the circulating movement of the steps, which are multiple tread members of the passenger conveyor, is slowed down and stopped in the event of an abnormality such as a fire. If a passenger enters the passenger conveyor from an entrance at this time, there is a risk of the passenger falling, causing a secondary disaster. For this reason, workers at the passenger conveyor operator may install a no-entry partition, such as a fence, at the entrance of the passenger conveyor to prevent passengers from entering. However, it may be difficult for workers to quickly install the no-entry partition when an abnormality occurs. Therefore, it is desirable to realize a configuration that can automatically install a no-entry partition at an entrance when an abnormality occurs, without requiring the labor of a worker.
[0003] Patent Document 1 describes a configuration including a fence main body (no-entry partition) that is installed at the entrance side of an escalator and can be retracted into the machine room below, a guide that guides the up and down movement of the fence main body, a rack and pinion device that moves the fence main body up and down, a motor that is a power source that drives the rack and pinion device, and a control device that controls the motor. When an earthquake is detected by an earthquake detector, the control device outputs a signal to drive the motor to cause the fence main body to protrude upward, thereby preventing passengers from getting on the escalator.
[0004] Japanese Utility Model Application Laid-Open Publication No. 1-169583
[0005] However, in the configuration described in Patent Document 1, in order to move the no-entry partition, it is necessary to continue driving the rack and pinion device with a large motor that generates a large amount of power until the no-entry partition is fully raised.
[0006] The object of the present invention is to realize a configuration in a passenger conveyor that can automatically install a no-entry partition at an entrance when an abnormality occurs without the need for a worker, and that does not require the operation of a large power source when installing the no-entry partition.
[0007] The automatic deployment device for no-entry partitions for passenger conveyors according to the present invention is an automatic deployment device for no-entry partitions for prohibiting passengers from entering through the landing-side entrance of a passenger conveyor having movable handrails movably supported on parapets erected at both widthwise ends, and comprises: telescopic gripping sections arranged below both movable handrails so as to span the width, each of which is extendable in width and has pressing sections that grip both widthwise ends of the movable handrails when contracted; connecting bodies connected to each of the telescopic gripping sections and extending in the widthwise direction between the handrails; a partition member suspended from the connecting bodies; and a control device for controlling the operation of the telescopic gripping sections, wherein when the moving handrails decelerate and stop due to the occurrence of an abnormality, each of the telescopic gripping sections clamps and grasps the moving handrail, and the movement of the moving handrails before they stop deploys the partition member upward at the entrance. This is an automatic deployment device for no-entry partitions for passenger conveyors.
[0008] According to the automatic deployment device for no-entry partitions on a passenger conveyor according to the present invention, when the moving handrails decelerate in the event of an abnormality, the control device causes the lower telescopic gripping sections of both moving handrails to grip the moving handrails with their pressing sections, and the moving handrails move before they stop, deploying the no-entry partitions (partition members) upward at the entrance of the passenger conveyor. This allows the no-entry partitions to be automatically deployed at the entrance without the need for a worker in the event of an abnormality. Furthermore, since the force required to lift the partition members against gravity can be derived from the force of the moving handrails before they stop, a large amount of power is not required, unlike the configuration of Patent Document 1, which uses a motor to generate power to lift the fence members with a rack and pinion device. This eliminates the need to operate a large power source when installing the partition members.
[0009] Furthermore, in the automatic deployment device for no-entry partitions on a passenger conveyor according to the present invention, the other ends of the two pressing parts of the telescopic gripping part are constantly urged in a contracting direction by telescopic springs, and an obstructing member is sandwiched between the other ends to hold the two pressing parts in an extended position away from the moving handrail, and further includes a removal drive part that removes the obstructing member from between the other ends, and the control device may be configured so that when the moving handrail decelerates and stops due to the occurrence of an abnormality, it controls the removal drive part to remove the obstructing member so that the pressing part grips the moving handrail.
[0010] According to the above configuration, when the moving handrail slows down in the event of an abnormality, the removal drive unit removes the obstructing member from between the other ends of the pressing parts of the telescopic gripping parts, allowing each telescopic gripping part to grip the moving handrail. Therefore, unlike a structure in which one pressing member is combined with the other pressing member so that they can be displaced relative to each other, and a power source such as a linear actuator is provided so that the pressing part of the other pressing member approaches the pressing part of the one pressing member, the moving body moved by the removal drive unit, which is the power source, can be small. Therefore, the power source can be made smaller.
[0011] In addition, in the automatic deployment device for no-entry partitions on a passenger conveyor according to the present invention, the control device may be configured to control the timing at which each of the telescopic gripping sections grabs the moving handrail so that when the moving handrail begins to decelerate due to an abnormality, the telescopic gripping sections grab the moving handrail and move to a predetermined position lower than the upper end of the entrance side end of the moving handrail and stop there.
[0012] According to the above configuration, by controlling the timing at which the telescopic gripping section grasps the movable handrail, the partition member can be accurately raised and deployed to an appropriate position without being pulled excessively upward.
[0013] Furthermore, in the automatic deployment device for no-entry partitions on passenger conveyors according to the present invention, the partition member may normally be suspended from the connecting body and stored in a lower storage section through an opening formed in the floor surface of the entrance, and the opening may be closed by a rotatable opening / closing lid.
[0014] With the above configuration, the partition member can be prevented from getting in the way of passengers under normal circumstances, and the opening in the floor for storing the partition member is normally covered by the openable lid, so passengers are less likely to feel uncomfortable. Also, in the event of an abnormality, the connecting body is pulled upward by the rise of the extendable gripping part that grips the moving handrail, so the openable lid can be pushed open and the partition member can be deployed upward.
[0015] According to the automatic deployment device for no-entry partitions on passenger conveyors of the present invention, a no-entry partition can be automatically installed at the entrance of a passenger conveyor in the event of an abnormality without the need for workers, and a configuration can be realized that does not require the operation of a large power source when installing the no-entry partition.

[0017] The following describes in detail an embodiment of the present invention with reference to the drawings. The shapes, materials, and quantities described below are merely examples for illustrative purposes and can be changed depending on the specifications of the passenger conveyor in which the no-entry partition automatic deployment device is installed. While the following describes a case in which the passenger conveyor is an escalator, the present invention is also applicable to a case in which the passenger conveyor is a moving walkway in which multiple step treads move continuously without any unevenness under the feet of passengers. Furthermore, the following describes a case in which the entrance to the escalator on the boarding side is on an upper floor and the exit on the disembarking side is on a lower floor, but the present invention is also applicable to a case in which the entrance is on a lower floor and the exit is on an upper floor.
[0018] The basic structure of escalator 10 will be described using Figures 1 and 2. Figure 1 is a perspective view showing the vicinity of the entrance of escalator 10 under normal conditions. Figure 2 is a perspective view showing the vicinity of the entrance of escalator 10 with partition member 54 deployed when an abnormality occurs.
[0019] Escalator 10 comprises a truss 12 and two balustrades 16 erected on both ends of the upper side of truss 12 in the width direction via deck board sections 14. Here, the "width direction" refers to the left-right direction in Figures 1 and 2 when escalator 10 is viewed in the direction of travel from a landing 18 on an upper floor. Truss 12 is a frame body installed to span between floor surface 20 of an upper floor and floor surface of a lower floor of a building. The moving parts of escalator 10 and an escalator drive device (not shown) are arranged on truss 12.
[0020] The moving portion of the escalator 10 includes a plurality of steps 22 on which passengers board and a movable handrail 24 movably supported on the outer periphery of each balustrade 16. The plurality of steps 22 are connected by two endless chains (not shown) provided on both sides in the width direction, and are capable of circular movement in one direction.
[0021] The escalator drive device includes a motor and a power transmission unit that transmits the power of the motor to the chain, and is provided inside the truss 12. As a result, the plurality of steps 22 move cyclically in one direction when driven by the motor. The motor is controlled by a control device 60, which will be described later.
[0022] The movable handrail 24 is movably supported on the outer periphery of a handrail guide 17 provided on the outer periphery of the balustrade 16. The movable handrail 24 is formed endless and is capable of circulating in one direction. The movable handrail 24 includes an outward section 25, which is an upper range that passengers can grasp and which is the section used to move from an upper floor to a lower floor, and a return section 26, which is a lower range that is used to move from a lower floor to an upper floor. Most of the return section 26 is located inside the deck board section 14 and is sandwiched between a drive roller and a pressure roller. Power is transmitted to the drive roller from the motor of the escalator drive device via a handrail drive mechanism. This allows the movable handrail 24 to circulate in one direction (the direction of arrow α in FIG. 1 ) in synchronization with the multiple steps 22.
[0023] In this type of escalator 10, the multiple steps 22 and the moving handrails 24 move at a constant speed under normal circumstances. On the other hand, when an abnormality occurs, i.e., when the control device 60 receives an abnormality signal indicating the occurrence of an abnormality from the earthquake detector 62 or the fire detector 64, the control device 60 decelerates and stops the multiple steps 22 and each moving handrail 24. For example, when the control device 60 receives an abnormality signal, it stops the power supply to the motor of the escalator drive device, and gradually brakes the motor with an electromagnetic brake, or controls the motor to slowly decelerate at a constant deceleration and then stop it by controlling the inverter. As a result, the multiple steps 22 and each moving handrail 24 slowly decelerate before stopping. Because the multiple steps 22 and each moving handrail 24 do not suddenly brake, passengers are prevented from falling on the steps 22.
[0024] When the escalator 10 is stopped due to an abnormality like this, it is necessary to prohibit passengers from entering through the entrance of the escalator 10. For this purpose, in this embodiment, an automatic no-entry partition deploying device 30 is deployed at the entrance of the escalator 10. The automatic no-entry partition deploying device 30 will be described in detail below.
[0025] Fig. 3 is a schematic diagram of the vicinity of the entrance of the escalator 10 under normal conditions, as viewed from one side in the width direction. Fig. 4 is a cross-sectional view taken along line A-A in Fig. 3. Fig. 5 is a schematic diagram of the vicinity of the entrance of the escalator 10 under abnormal conditions, as viewed from one side in the width direction. Fig. 6 is a cross-sectional view taken along line B-B in Fig. 5.
[0026] 3 and 4, the no-entry partition automatic deployment device 30 comprises two telescopic gripping sections 32, one on each side in the width direction, a connector 50, a partition member 54, and a control device 60 (FIG. 1). Under normal conditions, the two telescopic gripping sections 32 are positioned at the entrance, straddling the width direction (front-to-back direction in FIG. 3, left-to-right direction in FIG. 4), below the portions of the two handrails 24's return-path sections 26 immediately following their extension from the deck board section 14. As will be described in detail later, the telescopic gripping sections 32 are telescopic in length in the width direction, and have pressing sections 33 that grip both widthwise ends of the handrails 24 when retracted.
[0027] The connector 50 is a long, flexible member made of a lightweight, flexible material such as a string or rope, and both ends of the connector 50 are connected to each telescopic gripping section 32. In this state, both end portions 51 of the connector 50 hang down from the telescopic gripping sections 32 to a position below the floor surface 20, and the middle portion 52 of the connector 50 extends in the width direction from the lower ends of the both end portions 51 between the two balustrades 16 (in terms of their positional relationship in the width direction). Also, in the normal state shown in Figures 1, 3, and 4, the middle portion 52 of the connector 50 is disposed in the storage section 21 provided below the floor surface 20. As a result, when each telescopic gripping section 32 moves upward, the middle portion 52 of the connector 50 extends in the width direction between the entrance ends of the two balustrades 16.
[0028] The partition member 54 hangs down from the middle portion 52 of the connecting body 50. The partition member 54 is a lightweight, approximately rectangular sheet made of, for example, cloth or resin. Under normal conditions, the partition member 54 is accommodated in the accommodation section 21 through an opening 20a (FIG. 2) formed in the floor surface 20 of the entrance. In FIGS. 4 and 6, the partition member 54 is shown as a sandy portion.
[0029] When the moving handrail 24 decelerates and stops due to an abnormality, the control device 60 causes each of the telescopic gripping sections 32 to clamp and grip the moving handrail 24, and the movement of the moving handrail 24 before it stops deploys the partition member 54 upward at the entrance, as shown in Figures 2, 5, and 6. In this state, the middle section 52 of the connecting body 50 extends widthwise between the entrance ends of both balustrades 16, causing the partition member 54 to deploy upward while extending to the left and right, prohibiting passengers from entering the entrance of the escalator 10. This allows the escalator 10 to automatically install the partition member 54 as an entry prohibition partition at the entrance in the event of an abnormality without the need for a worker, as described below, and achieves a configuration that does not require the driving of a large power source when installing the partition member 54. Note that when the partition member 54 is deployed, a message such as "No Entry" may be displayed on the surface facing the landing 18 to alert passengers.
[0030] The telescopic gripping portion 32 will be described in detail using Figures 7 to 9. Figure 7 is an enlarged view of part C in Figure 4, showing the inside of the case 36 of the telescopic gripping portion 32. Figure 8 shows the inside of the case 36 as viewed from above in Figure 7. Figure 9 is a view corresponding to Figure 5, showing the state when the baffle rod 38 has been pulled out from between the other ends of the pressing portion 33.
[0031] The extendable gripping unit 32 includes two pressing portions 33 and a case 36. Each pressing portion 33 is a plate-like member with a generally J-shaped cross section and a pressing end 34 at one end. The two pressing portions 33 are spaced apart across the handrail 24 so that the pressing ends 34 face each other in the width direction (left-right direction in Figures 7 and 8 ). The other end of each pressing portion 33 is inserted into both widthwise ends of the case 36 so as to be movable in the width direction. Each pressing portion 33 has a body portion 33a made of, for example, resin or metal, with a generally J-shaped cross section, a shape that is continuous in the up-down direction (Figure 8 ) perpendicular to the width direction, and a bent portion 33b provided between the cases 36 on the side opposite the pressing end 34 of the body portion 33a. The bent portion 33b has a first plate portion 33b1 extending from the body portion 33a and a second plate portion 33b2 extending from the upper end of the first plate portion 33b1 in directions facing each other.
[0032] At the bent portions 33b of both pressing portions 33, a tension coil spring 39 is connected to the base end side of the first plate portion 33b1. As a result, the other ends of both pressing portions 33 are constantly biased in the contraction direction by the tension coil spring 39 inside the case 36. The tension coil spring 39 corresponds to an expansion / contraction spring. Furthermore, a baffle rod 38, which is a cylindrical iron core, is sandwiched between the other ends of both pressing portions 33, i.e., between the tips of the second plate portions 33b2. The baffle rod 38 corresponds to a baffle member. As a result, the baffle rod 38 holds the pressing ends 34 of both pressing portions 33 in an extended position (the position shown in FIG. 7 ) spaced apart from the handrail 24 in the width direction.
[0033] The case 36 has a shape in which a cylindrical tube portion 36b with a bottom is connected to one longitudinal end of a substantially rectangular parallelepiped box-shaped portion 36a. Guide holes 37 are formed at both widthwise ends of the box-shaped portion 36a, and the other end of the main body portion 33a of the pressing portion 33 is inserted into the guide holes 37 so as to be movable in the widthwise direction.
[0034] A removal drive unit 70 (FIG. 8) is housed and fixed in the cylindrical portion 36b of the case 36. The removal drive unit 70 is formed by a coil 71, and when electricity is applied to the coil 71, the baffle rod 38 is removed into the coil 71 from between the other ends of the pressing portions 33. A compression spring 72 is provided between the baffle rod 38 and the bottom plate of the cylindrical portion 36b, and biases the baffle rod 38 so as to push it between the other ends of the pressing portions 33. This ensures that the baffle rod 38 can be stably maintained inserted between the other ends of the pressing portions 33 under normal conditions. The application of electricity to the removal drive unit 70 is controlled by a control device 60, which will be described later.
[0035] As shown in Figure 9, when the baffle rod 38 is removed from between the other ends of the pressing portions 33, the tension coil spring 39 is forced in the contracting direction, thereby reducing the distance between the pressing portions 33. This reduces the distance between the pressing ends 34 of the pressing portions 33, allowing the extendable gripping portions 32 to grip both widthwise ends of the handrail 24. The control device 60 also stops the flow of electricity to the coil 71 (Figure 8) after the baffle rod 38 is removed from between the other ends of the pressing portions 33. In this case, after the baffle rod 38 is removed, the tension coil spring 39 forces the distance between the other ends of the pressing portions 33 to be smaller than the diameter of the baffle rod 38. This prevents the baffle rod 38 from being pushed between the other ends again, allowing the extendable gripping portions 32 to maintain their grip on the handrail 24 even when the flow of electricity to the coil 71 is stopped.
[0036] In addition, both ends of the connecting body 50 are connected to the cases 36 of both telescopic gripping sections 32. In this state, both end portions 51 of the connecting body 50 hang downward from the case 36, and the middle portion 52 of the connecting body 50 extends in the width direction. A partition member 54 is suspended from the middle portion 52. Under normal conditions, as shown in FIG. 1 , the case 36 of each telescopic gripping section 32 is placed on the upper surface of a support base 80 disposed adjacent to the entrance end face of the deck board section 14. In this state, the two pressing portions 33 of each telescopic gripping section 32 face each other at both ends of the handrail 24 in the width direction. Each support base 80 is composed of two rectangular parallelepiped sections facing each other with a gap 81 in the width direction. The end portions 51 ( FIG. 2 ) of the connecting body 50 hanging from the case 36 extend through the gap 81 between the rectangular parallelepiped sections into the storage section 21 below the floor surface 20. In this way, the end 51 of the connecting body 50 passes through the gap 81 in the support base 80, so when the extendable gripping part 32 grips the moving handrail 24 and moves upward as described below, the end 51 of the connecting body 50 can smoothly slip out from the entrance side end of the support base 80 to the landing 18 side through the gap 81. Furthermore, by having the end 51 of the connecting body 50 hang down, the partition member 54 that is normally suspended from the middle part of the connecting body 50 can be entirely hidden in the storage part 21 below the floor surface 20.
[0037] Furthermore, a substantially rectangular opening 20a ( FIG. 5 ) extending in the width direction is formed on the floor surface 20 at a position adjacent to the landing 18 side of the support platform 80. The partition member 54 is normally stored in the storage section 21 through this opening 20a while hanging from the intermediate section 52 of the connecting body 50. The partition member 54 may be arranged in a state in which it simply hangs down within the storage section 21, or may be wound up in a roll or placed in the storage section 21 in a stacked shape with the member folded back multiple times in different alternate directions. Furthermore, the opening 20a is closed by an opening / closing lid section 20b ( FIG. 5 ) that is rotatable about an axis extending in the width direction.
[0038] The control device 60 includes a microcomputer having a storage unit such as a CPU and a memory. An earthquake detector 62 and a fire detector 64 are connected to the control device 60. When the earthquake detector 62 detects an earthquake of a predetermined magnitude or greater, it outputs an earthquake detection signal, which is an abnormal signal, to the control device 60. When the fire detector detects a fire in the building, it outputs a fire detection signal, which is an abnormal signal, to the control device 60. When an abnormal signal is input from the earthquake detector 62 or the fire detector 64 to the control device 60, the control device 60 notifies passengers via an audio output unit that an earthquake or fire has occurred and that the escalator 10 will be stopped, and decelerates and stops the multiple steps 22 and the moving handrail 24. When the moving handrail 24 decelerates and stops due to the occurrence of an abnormality, the control device 60 controls the removal drive unit 70 to remove the obstructing rod 38 from the other end of the pressing unit 33, thereby causing the pressing unit 33 to grip the moving handrail 24. 2, 5, and 6, the control device 60 causes the partition member 54 to deploy upward at the entrance of the escalator 10 by the movement of the moving handrail 24 before it stops. In this case, the control device 60 controls the timing at which the telescopic gripping sections 32 grip the moving handrail 24 so that, when the moving handrail 24 begins to decelerate due to the occurrence of an abnormality, each of the telescopic gripping sections 32 grips the moving handrail 24 and moves upward to a predetermined position lower than the upper end of the entrance-side end of the moving handrail 24 (the position shown by point D in FIG. 2), where it stops.
[0039] 10 is a flowchart showing a method for deploying the partition member 54 when an abnormality occurs. First, in step S10, the control device 60 determines whether or not an abnormality has been detected based on the input of an abnormality signal from the earthquake detector 62 or the fire detector 64. If the determination result in step S10 is positive (YES), the process proceeds to step S12, where the control device 60 starts deceleration of the multiple steps 22 and the moving handrail 24. If the determination result in step S10 is negative (NO), the process of step S10 is repeated.
[0040] After step S12, in step S14, the control device 60 determines whether the expected movement length of the movable handrail 24 from the current time until it stops has reached the predetermined length L ( FIG. 5 ) at which the movement position of the extendable gripping unit 32 is a predetermined position lower than the upper end of the entrance-side end. If the determination result of step S14 is affirmative (YES), the process proceeds to step S16, and the baffle rod 38 of the extendable gripping unit 32 is removed from between the other ends of the pressing units 33 by the removal drive unit 70, causing the extendable gripping unit 32 to grip the movable handrail 24. If the determination result of step S14 is negative (NO), the process of step S14 is repeated. In step S18, the movable handrail 24 moves with the extendable gripping unit 32 gripping the movable handrail 24, causing the partition member 54 to unfold upward. At this time, the middle part of the connecting body 50 from which the partition member 54 is suspended pushes open the opening / closing lid 20b that covers the opening 20a, and the partition member 54 is deployed upward through the opening 20a. Then, in step S20, the plurality of steps 22 and the moving handrail 24 stop, and the process ends.
[0041] According to the above-described no-entry partition automatic deployment device 30, when the moving handrails 24 decelerate in the event of an abnormality, the control device 60 causes the lower telescopic gripping portions 32 of both moving handrails 24 to grip the moving handrails 24 with the pressing portions 33, respectively. The movement of the moving handrails 24 before they stop deploys the partition members 54 upward at the entrance of the escalator 10. This allows the partition members 54 to be automatically installed at the entrance without the need for an operator in the event of an abnormality. Furthermore, since the force required to raise the partition members 54 against gravity can be derived from the force of the moving handrails 24 before they stop, a large amount of power is not required, unlike the configuration of Patent Document 1, which uses a motor to generate power to raise the fence members using a rack and pinion device. This eliminates the need to operate a large power source when installing the partition members 54.
[0042] Furthermore, the control device 60 controls the timing at which the telescopic gripping sections 32 grab the moving handrail 24 so that when the moving handrail 24 begins to decelerate due to the occurrence of an abnormality, each of the telescopic gripping sections 32 grabs the moving handrail 24 and moves to and stops at a predetermined position lower than the upper end of the entrance side end of the moving handrail 24. This allows the partition member 54 to be accurately raised and deployed to an appropriate position where it is not pulled excessively upward.
[0043] Furthermore, under normal circumstances, the partition member 54 is suspended from the connecting body 50 and stored in the lower storage section 21 through an opening 20a in the entrance floor surface 20, and the opening 20a is closed by the rotatable opening / closing lid 20b. This prevents the partition member 54 from getting in the way of passengers under normal circumstances, and passengers are less likely to feel uncomfortable because the opening 20a formed in the floor surface 20 for storing the partition member 54 is normally closed by the opening / closing lid 20b. Furthermore, in the event of an abnormality, the connecting body 50 is pulled upward by the rise of the extendable gripping section 32 gripping the moving handrail 24, pushing open the opening / closing lid 20b, and the partition member 54 can be deployed upward.
[0044] In the above embodiment, the configuration has been described in which the extendable gripping portion 32 removes the baffle rod 38 from between the other ends of the two pressing portions 33, but it may also be configured in such a way that the removal drive portion 70 removes a flat baffle plate as a baffle member from between the other ends of the two pressing portions 33. Also, in the above, it has been described that the extendable gripping portion 32 has a case 36 and the two pressing portions 33 are inserted into the case 36, but it may also be configured in such a way that the case is omitted and that a guide frame is provided that supports each pressing portion 33 so that the other ends of the two pressing portions 33 can move in the width direction, and the removal drive portion is fixed to the guide frame.
[0045] Furthermore, the control device 60 may be configured to determine that an abnormality has occurred when an excessive load is applied to the step 22 for some reason, and to decelerate and stop the moving handrail 24 and the steps 22. In this case, as in the above embodiment, when the moving handrail 24 is decelerated, each of the extendable gripping sections 32 clamps and grips the moving handrail 24, and the partition member 54 is deployed upward at the entrance as the moving handrail 24 moves before stopping.
