AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing water rescue aids with gas-inflatable floating bodies experience delayed inflation due to the position of the inflation device relative to the waterline, affecting functionality and safety.

Method used

A device with a gas cartridge and a sensor-activated opening mechanism, utilizing a capacitive or conductance sensor to reliably detect water contact and trigger the opening of the gas cartridge for stable and responsive inflation, including a pressure relief valve and a check valve for safety, integrated into an item of clothing for improved performance.

Benefits of technology

Ensures stable and responsive inflation of the floating body upon water contact, enhancing safety and functionality by preventing accidental gas release and maintaining pressure control, suitable for use in water rescue scenarios.
