AI Technical Summary
Technical Problem
Conventional heat exchangers face issues with odor release when condensed water evaporates all at once, especially during low load operations, due to decreased drainage properties caused by grooves on the fins.
Method used
The heat exchanger features a fin with a first region and a second region, where the second region is more hydrophilic and has a groove to improve hydrophilicity, located adjacent to the joint between the tube and the fin. This design reduces the area where condensed water is drawn, slowing its evaporation and preventing sudden odor release.
Benefits of technology
This design effectively suppresses the release of odor components when condensed water evaporates, while maintaining adequate drainage properties during high condensation scenarios.

Abstract
A heat exchanger 1 includes: tubes (10) through which a first fluid flows; and fins (20) that are formed by bending plate-form members, the fins promoting heat exchange between a second fluid flowing outside the tubes and the first fluid. The outer surfaces (21) of the fins have a first region (21A) and a second region (21B) that has higher hydrophilicity than the first region. A groove part (22) for improving the hydrophilicity of the outer surface is formed in the second region. The second region is disposed adjacent to a partial region (12A) of a joining part (12) between the tubes and the fins.
