AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

The upconversion quantum efficiency of existing solid-state photon upconversion materials is low and the excitation light intensity threshold is high, mainly due to the aggregation of sensitizers.

Method used

A solid state upconversion material consisting of two or more kinds of triplet sensitizers and organic light emitting materials is used, wherein the minimum excitation triplet energy of the triplet sensitizer is equal to or higher than the minimum excitation triplet energy of the organic light emitting material, and the minimum excitation singleton energy of the triplet sensitizer is lower than the minimum excitation singleton energy of the organic light emitting material.

Benefits of technology

The upconversion emission intensity and quantum efficiency under excitation light containing wide band spectrum such as sunlight are improved, and the material exhibits high stability and durability at low excitation light intensity.

Abstract

An organic solid upconversion material comprising two or more triplet sensitizers and an organic luminescent material, wherein: the maximum absorption wavelengths λMAX (TS) of the two or more triplet sensitizers in a range on the longer wavelength side of the maximum luminescence wavelength λMAX (EM) of the organic luminescent material are different from each other; the minimum excitation triplet energy of each of the two or more triplet sensitizers is not lower than the minimum excitation triplet energy of the organic luminescent material; and the minimum excitation singlet energy of each of the two or more triplet sensitizers is lower than the minimum excitation singlet energy of the organic luminescent material.
