AI Technical Summary
Technical Problem
Current wireless communication systems face challenges in maintaining optimal beam direction due to dynamic wireless channels, leading to suboptimal performance in scenarios with potential blockages or non-ideal backhaul latency.
Method used
The implementation of temporal default transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state prediction in lower layer triggered mobility (LTM) systems, allowing for the prediction of default and alternative future TCI states in target cells, which can be used to mitigate the effects of blockages and backhaul latency.
Benefits of technology
This approach reduces power consumption, LTM latency, and throughput interruption while improving the efficiency and reliability of beam management and prediction procedures.

Abstract
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for network and user equipment (UE) based temporal default transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state prediction in lower layer triggered mobility (LTM). An example method, performed at a UE, generally includes obtaining information configuring the user equipment with a set of candidate cells, wherein the user equipment supports LTM that enables switching of communication between the candidate cells, obtaining a command indicating that the UE is to switch from one or more source cells to one or more target cells of the set of candidate cells, obtaining a request for temporal beam prediction results, outputting, for transmission, a report including the temporal beam prediction results, and processing, after obtaining the request, at least one communication associated with one or more of the target cells based on the temporal beam prediction results.
