AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

When constructing Polar codes for hybrid automatic retransmission request (HARQ) transmission and Polar codes that support self-decoding, how to map information bits to reduce decoding complexity and improve decoding performance.

Method used

By simultaneously mapping a part of the information bits into each sent sequence, and using hierarchical mapping and interleaving mapping technology, we ensure that there is a corresponding verification relationship between each bit, thereby reducing the coding complexity and improving the coding performance.

Benefits of technology

It achieves the effect of reducing the coding complexity and improving the decoding performance, and can balance the performance of small amounts of retransmission and large amounts of retransmission, and improve the overall performance of the system.

Abstract

A communication method and apparatus, which relate to the technical field of communications, and can simultaneously map some information bits into sent sequences, so as to improve the decoding performance. The method comprises: determining K first bits on the basis of a reliability sequence with a length of N1, and determining K second bits on the basis of a reliability sequence with a length of N2; dividing bits of a first sequence with a length of (N2-N1) into X groups of bits, and dividing A first bits into X groups of first bits, wherein the X groups of bits comprise A second bits, the number of first bits comprised in an xth group of first bits being the same as the number of second bits comprised in an xth group of bits, x=1, 2, ..., X; on the basis of an information bit sequence with a length of K, mapping information bits, which correspond to the xth group of first bits, onto second bits of the xth group of bits of the first sequence, so as to obtain a second sequence; performing polarization encoding to obtain an encoded bit sequence; and sending to a receiving-end device one or more bits in the encoded bit sequence.
