AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing video coding technologies face challenges in improving coding efficiency, as they struggle to effectively store and utilize affine motion information, particularly in non-affine-merge coded blocks or non-affine-advanced motion vector prediction (AMVP) coded blocks.

Method used

The proposed method involves determining affine information for video units that are not affine-merge coded blocks or affine-AMVP coded blocks, storing this information, and using it to perform conversions between video units and bitstreams, thereby enhancing coding efficiency and performance.

Benefits of technology

By storing and utilizing affine motion information, the method improves coding efficiency and performance, leading to more effective video processing and compression.

Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a solution for video processing. A method for video processing is proposed. The method comprises: determining, for a conversion between a video unit of a video and a bitstream of the video, affine information used in the video unit, wherein the video unit is not an affine-merge coded block or affine-advanced motion vector prediction (AMVP) coded block; storing the affine information used in the video unit; and performing the conversion based on the stored affine information.
