AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing systems for inductive energy transmission face challenges in precisely recognizing the relative position of induction charging devices, which hinders efficient energy transfer.

Method used

The system employs a transmission coil with a known winding axis and generates a pulse signal of known polarity, which is received by two reception coils with different winding axes. Based on the polarity of the induced voltages, the direction of the transmission coil relative to the reception coils is determined, allowing for precise recognition of the relative position of the induction charging devices.

Benefits of technology

This method enables simple and reliable recognition of the relative position of induction charging devices, leading to improved efficiency in inductive energy transmission and precise positioning of the energy coils.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for operating a system (1) for inductive power transmission having a stationary induction charging device (2, 2a) and a mobile induction charging device (2, 2b). One of the induction charging devices (2) has a transmitting coil (7) wound around a predetermined winding axis (1), and the other induction charging device (2) has two receiving coils (9, 10), each having an associated and predetermined winding axis (A2, A3). The transmitting coil (7) generates a predetermined pulse signal (P), wherein the voltages (U) induced in the receiving coils (9, 10) by the pulse signal (P) are used to identify a relative position of the induction charging devices (2) in relation to one another. The invention also relates to a system (1) operated in this manner.
