AI Technical Summary
Technical Problem
Existing pretreatment liquids for inkjet ink on non-permeable substrates result in insufficient dot spread, leading to streaks in images, and inadequate laminate strength between the substrate and the image recording material.
Method used
A pretreatment liquid comprising resin particles, surfactants, flocculants, and water, where the surfactant contains a compound with a specific formula (1) that balances hydrophilic and hydrophobic properties, enhancing dot spread and adhesion.
Benefits of technology
The solution effectively expands the dot diameter of inkjet ink, improving image quality by reducing streaks, and enhances the laminate strength between the substrate and the image recording material.
