AI Technical Summary
Technical Problem
Existing connectors have gaps or slits in their shielding material, allowing electromagnetic interference (EMI) to enter and compromising EMI performance, particularly in high-density and high-speed electronic devices.
Method used
A connector design featuring a first and second shielding member that fully covers the insulator and contacts, with the second shielding member enclosing the first from outside, minimizing gaps and enhancing noise shielding.
Benefits of technology
Improves EMI performance by effectively shielding the connector from external noise, ensuring better protection in high-density and high-speed electronic environments.

Abstract
A connector (10) according to the present disclosure comprises: an insulator (20a) having a holding portion (26a); a plurality of contacts (40) attached to the insulator (20a); a first shielding member (50a) attached to the insulator (20a); and a second shielding member (50b) attached to the first shielding member (50a). The first shielding member (50a) includes a first shielding portion (53a) disposed outside the insulator (20a), and a held portion (55a) held by the holding portion (26a). The second shielding member (50b) includes a second shielding portion (53b) that covers the insulator (20a) together with the first shielding portion (53a) from the outside of the first shielding portion (53a), and the second shielding portion (53b) covers the held portion (55a) from the outside of the first shielding member (50a).
