[0022] In 3GPP Release 19, ongoing discussions are directed to specifying how UE access technology utilization is proactively controlled by network. Current mechanisms to limit UE utilization of certain access technology employed by network operators include rejecting the UE’s attach request, Tracking Area Updating (TAU) request, or registration request with cause value #15 ‘no suitable cells in tracking area’ extended with value ‘E-UTRAN not allowed’ or cause value #27 ‘N1 mode not allowed’ upon the UE attempting to attach or register via a specific access technology. However, this existing mechanism results in adverse network conditions, e.g., higher signaling loads within the network, service outages until the UE selects another access technology, and / or the UE continuing to perform re-attempts on the same public land mobile network (PLMN) / access technology upon the UE re-enabling the corresponding access technology. Existing methodologies are directed to providing or updating access technology utilization control information to UE; however, methods to delete access technology utilization control information at the UE side are missing. Embodiments of the disclosed technology address this issue, therefor providing methods to delete access technology utilization control information.

In contrast, the 5G System (5GS) , introduced in 3GPP Release 15, includes the 5G Core (5GC) and New Radio (NR) access network, offering higher data rates, lower latency, and greater capacity. 5GS supports enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) , ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC) , and massive machine-type communications (mMTC) , leveraging advanced technologies like massive MIMO, beamforming, and network slicing.
