Abstract

The invention relates to a method (100) for non-destructively testing a part made of polycrystalline material, the method being implemented by a non-destructive testing device comprising electronic circuitry suitable for implementing the method. The method comprises at least the following steps: - (Step 1) measuring an ultrasonic reflection matrix of the part associated with a multi-element probe containing N piezoelectric transducers; - (Step 2) projecting the ultrasonic reflection matrix into a focused base; - (Step 3) constructing a map of the speed of longitudinal waves; - (Step 4) constructing a map of the speed of transverse waves; - (Step 5) determining local elastic constants of the part; - (Step 6) detecting a defect or unusual area in the part by analysing the local elastic constants of the part determined in step 5.
