By permuting or multiplexing n first data streams to generate m second data streams, and combining convolutional interleaving and FEC coding, the latency problem of existing cascaded FEC schemes in 1.6T transmission scenarios is solved, realizing a cascaded FEC scheme with low latency and high decoding performance, suitable for higher-speed transmission scenarios.

Abstract
Embodiments of the present application disclose a data processing method, an apparatus, and a system, enabling a proposed concatenated FEC scheme to have higher decoding performance and a lower delay, so that the concatenated FEC scheme can be applied to more coherent transmission scenarios. Specifically, n RS-encoded first data streams are first acquired, where n>2, every two consecutive RS symbols in each of the n first data streams are from two RS codewords respectively, and the n first data streams carry data of at least two Ethernet clients. Then, first processing is performed on the n first data streams to obtain m second data streams, wherein m≥1, every ds consecutive RS symbols in each of the m second data streams are from ds RS codewords respectively, ds≥6, and a plurality of RS symbols in each second data stream are from at least three of the n first data streams. Further, second processing comprising convolutional interleaving and FEC encoding is performed on the m second data streams.
