Method and apparatus for multi-user channel estimation using task-based quantization in millimeter-wave communication system assisted by intelligent reflecting surface

Abstract

A method according to an embodiment of the present specification comprises the steps of: receiving an uplink signal from a terminal; and performing channel estimation on the basis of the uplink signal. The uplink signal is received on the basis of each of a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) and an antenna. The channel estimation comprises estimation of a first channel and a second channel. The first channel is associated with the terminal and the RIS. The second channel is associated with the RIS and the base station. The channel estimation is performed on the basis of first information and second information generated on the basis of quantization of the uplink signal.
