AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing metal frames for mobile communication terminals face issues with deformation and defects due to high-temperature die-casting, and plastic housing frames lack structural strength and efficient heat dissipation.

Method used

A frame for a mobile terminal combining a ring member formed into a square shape from a circular wire and a casting bracket, laser welded together, minimizing processing steps and reducing manufacturing costs through dedicated equipment and die-casting.

🎯Benefits of technology

Minimizes processing steps and reduces manufacturing costs while maintaining structural strength and heat dissipation efficiency by using a laser-welded frame with a reinforced edge surface.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a mobile terminal frame having a ring member coupled to a casting bracket, the frame comprising: a ring member which is manufactured in a rectangular shape by rolling, drawing or extruding a circular wire rod, and which is segmented into two or more parts; and a casting bracket which is manufactured through a die-casting process, and which has the ring member coupled to the outer periphery thereof by welding, wherein the casting bracket with a minimized amount of machining is laser-welded and joined to the surface of the ring member obtained by bending and cutting a rectangular wire rod through dedicated equipment, such that a machining process can be minimized and manufacturing costs can be reduced.
